<br />Ordinance No. 69-24 was introduced by Mr. West. An Ordinance establishing
<br />compensation to be paid extra office employees hired by the City of North
<br />Olmsted, and repealing Ordinance No. 2599, enacted December 3, 1957, and
<br />declaring an emergency. Mr. West moved for suspension of rule requiring
<br />three separate readings, seconded by Mr. Limpert. Affirmative vote Caster,
<br />Eian, Hodgins, Limpert, Miller, Prokasy, West. Mr. West then mvved for
<br />adoption of the ordinance, seconded by Mr. Limpert. Affirmative vote
<br />Caster, Eian, Hodgins, Limpert, Miller, Prokasy, West.
<br />Ordinance No. 69-25 was introdueed by Mr. West. An Ordinance amending
<br />67-184, enacted June 26, 1967, and entitled "An Ordinance creating.the
<br />position of secretary of Commissions and providing compensation therefor,"
<br />and declaring an emergency. Mr. West moved for suspension of the rule re-
<br />quiring three separate readings,.seconded by Mr.Caster. Affirmative vote
<br />Caster, Eian, Hodgins, Limpert, Miller, Prokasy, West. Mr. West then moved
<br />for adoption of ordinance, secanded by Mr. Caster. Affirmative vote Caster,
<br />Eian, Hodgins, Limpert, Miller, Prokasy, West.
<br />Resolution No. 69-26 was introduced by Mrs. Hodgins. A Resolution commending
<br />and thanking the Lakewood Lodge No. 1350 B.P.O. Elks for the generosity and
<br />kindness exhibited by them dur?ng the 1968 Christmas Season, and declaring
<br />an emergency. Mrs. Hodgins moved for suspension of rule requiring three
<br />separate readings, seconded by Mr. Prokasy. Affirmative vote Caster, Eian,
<br />Hodgins, Limpert, Miller, Prokasy, West. Mrs. Hodgins then mqved for adpption
<br />of the resolution, seconded by Mr. Prokasy. Affirmative vote Caster, Eian,
<br />Hodging, Limpert, Miller, Prokasy, West.
<br />Undex old business, Mr. Eian mentioned the survey that is to be done by the
<br />National Safety Council on highway safety. The Mayor has suggested it would
<br />be to our advantage to be a part of this study. Narth Olmsted's share of
<br />cost would be about $350. Mr. Eian moved that we join with the State of
<br />Ohio in this survey, seconded by Mr. Caster. "Yeas" Caster, Eian, Hodgins,
<br />Limpert, Prokasy, West.
<br />Under new business, Mr. Prokasy requested legislation that would enable City
<br />to resubmit their application to Deparzment of Natural ResoµrceS for North
<br />Olmsted's project.
<br />Mr. West requested legislation to authorize the Service Director to take bids
<br />for new tires and recapping of tires for City use, and gasoline for one yeaz;
<br />also for 1,000 tons each of asphalt and slag for repairing and maintaining
<br />City's streets. Mr. West also requested legislation authorizing Finance
<br />Director to make adjustments in sewer charge when an adjustment is made in
<br />water charge. Also legislation authorizing Mayor to enter into contract with
<br />Regional Flanning Commission for a maximum fee of $5,000 for further work.
<br />Mr. West moved that we authorize representatives of the City to attend a cere-
<br />mony in Washington, D. C. duXing which the City will be given an award for
<br />its Face-Lifting Program; amount to be kept within the limits of Mayor's trgvel
<br />budget. Mr. Eian seconded motion. "Yeas" Caster, Eian, Hodgins, Limpert,
<br />Miller, Prokasy, West. Mr. West then asked for legislation specifying the
<br />payment of overtime and limits on overtime for the Police Department. The
<br />next meeting of the Finance Commtttee will be on Februaxy 17, 8:15 p.m.
