Facts pointed out were: Reciprocity with other comunitiea brings to the City $125,000. and without this amaunt of money it wculd be quite difficult to meet the expenses City is used to incurring. Tax duplicate lasC qear increasesd only $351,000. because of the Board of Revision decrease in aseesaue:tt. City is under sCrain af $arbage sad rubbish pick upy i.e., 2and fill fees increased from $12. to $17. per lasd in pest year. Increase can be eu- pected fn very near future. Apprapxiation in bndget last year was $25,000. to handle these fees; Chis amount was wsed up and had to ttausfer moniss to that part of apprapriation. Safety forces cost per capita is one of the lotaest in surraunding cornmunities so need 3.s there to increase spending in that area. rlovins; the Service Garage from park area to a new location will be an extrs cost as f ar as baaded indebtedness and miscellaneous expenditures. Need to continue with street imprcvements, drainage, etc. Last qear $44,004 was apprcypriated £or street imprave- ment and "°aurface was bareIy scratched". Regarding street lighting progran -$45,000 was apprapriated in last pear's budaet aad City is stil.l getting requests for additional lighting and City doas nat have the manies to do so. Same hol(b true for Traffic Caatrol - requests for imprawe- ment aad also requests for traffic Iights - addi,tional expendituxes. Have been informed by Service Director in connection taith aarbage disposal that the need is there for additiaaal personnel and equipnent -garbage tzucks axe in $30,000. range. [V'ith reciprocity esnding City stands to lose $125,040. and with current cxgenses Citq now has, feels it is itnpossible to lose that amount of money. Mr. Pro?casy commented that unless this ardinance is passed the City is goinU to loee $125,Jd(l. so the attempt is to retain that and not in fact increase revenues that we already hane.
