Mr. Raiater presented an extensive progran on hie wcrcodiziag <br />method of recycling soli.d waste. There w,as much intereet shora and <br />many qusstions aaked by thase in attaadance, but ao commitments made by <br />anyoae at this time. There Will be fuxther meetings in the future ger- <br />taining to solid waste aad environment. <br />Mr. West, Chairman Transportaticra Committee and Building, Zaning & <br />Developnent Coagni.tCee reported the fbllawing: 1) Transgortat3.on Committee <br />met with counterpart of Fai.rview Covncil to discuss new fares on bus Iine. <br />Agreement was reached and thexe is an Ordinance on first resdiag tanight, <br />2) Building, Zoniag & Development Committee were preaent with Citizeas <br />Committee which meeting cvae held oa Janusry 14, for organizatioaal <br />purposes. Citizen8 Comittee is etudying land use -€uil complement of <br />those who had said they were interested aAd represented areas, subdivi- <br />sions, clubs, etc. were preaent. Next meeting will be held cm January 21, <br />1971, City Ha11. <br />3) Building, Zoning &Development Committee met aad discueaed the <br />proposed eacganaion of the Bucksqe Hause Restaurant and parking thereto, <br />and the Carriage Carpet Aouse. <br />At this time Mr. West made anotion that Council approve the parking for <br />the expanded Buckeye House Restaurant. Motion was seccraded hy Mr. Speedling. <br />Mr. Grady quest3,oned if there are enough parking spaces as per ordinance. <br />Mr. tJeet stated yes - last Cim,e it was brought up there were not enov;gh <br />and proposa2 was sent back. This time it meets the requirementa?. Af£irma- <br />tive vote Boehmer, Gracty, Hodgina, Limpert, Prokasy, Speedling, West. <br />Motion carried. <br />Mr. West made a motioa that Council apprave the parking of the Carriage <br />Carpet House as pragosed, and pointed aut that Chis went before the Board <br />of Zoning Appeals who gxante8 a variance. Motiaa was seeonded by Mr. <br />Speedling. Mr. Grady queeticraed that since it has been approved by the <br />Board of Zoning Appeals, it seems a mute thing that Council has to vote <br />on it. It was explained by 14r. West there are a number of item besi.des <br />the nuaiber af spaces that we must look at, i.e., sizes of spaces, location <br />of spaces, location of parking lot, etc., whereas all the Bcard of Zcning <br />Appeals di@ was grant a variance on the number of park,ing sgaces. <br />Affirmative vote Baehmer, Gradq, Radgins, Limpert, Prakasy, Spmmedling, <br />West. Motion carried. <br />Mr. West comtQented that at the meeting with the Fairvi;ew Coeutcil Ccumittee <br />they made several euggeations, one of which wae to atart a bus out on <br />the rush hour in the morplng in Fairview or cloae Chereto, so that the <br />Fairviea people are not necesaarilq deprtned of seatss.
