Councii Minutes of 1-5-71 <br />Fage -3-. <br />the rnaaagement fxom the Mayor's secretar; to the Searvice Director's <br />secretary (on'.y change in Oxdinance). <br />City Engineer Karhan reported in ccmneetion with the dedication of Woodview, <br />ef#orts are being made to contact the original developers and have them <br />p lant trees. <br />Mrs. Hodgiias, Chairman Public Safety, Heslth & tJelfare Cos?nittee aad <br />Recreation, Pubiic Parks & Building Catmnittee, reparted the follcywing: <br />1) as reflected in minutee of Aecember 15th, the 3afetq Comwaittee were <br />making a study of the Shepherd's Hill iutersection on Mastick and there <br />is a reconmendation that there be a fleshing red si,gnal at that inter- <br />section because of the forthcou.ing crnaatruction o£ the Sewage Treatment <br />Plaat. Mrs. Hodgins requested this be referred to the TramportaCion <br />Cotmai.ttee. <br />President Pro Tem Prokasy referred subject matter into TransporCation <br />Committee. <br />Mr. Limpert, Chairmsn Finanee Committee, reported thie Committee has had <br />several meeti,ngs; have started negetiaticros with safety forcea far gaasi- <br />bility of inerease in selary and other benefits and has had afeetings pex- <br />taining to the budget. <br />Mr. West, Cha3.rman Trwspoztation Committee and Buil.ding, Zoning & <br />Development Committee presented a detailed repart on the fiadings of <br />the Building, Zoning & Aevelcpmeut Committee regarding C.E.I. proposal. <br />The follow3ng is a synvpsis of report by Mr. West. <br />1. Need for added power - 1956 was the last time a new pcwer line <br />was braught into North 0lmsted. lde have had subetantial gzcywth slnce <br />that time. <br />At present we are receivi.ng power from the Avon Lake Power Plant, and <br />we are an the taii end o€ this line. The proposed additional power <br />source will provide a$rid system so that North Olatsted is not totally <br />relying on one power p1anC. <br />There was a misconception at the start that this added pawer waffi needed <br />only for the shoppi.ng center.
