Bruce <br />Kitchen, Acting, City Engineer Michael Ka.rhan, Clerk of Council <br />Nora FIill. <br />Ia the abseace of President OrNeill the meetlnw, was called to order by <br />President Pr: Tem James ?'rckssy at 8:00 p.m. <br />After correcting the minutes to show Mr. West had requested Engineexing <br />pepartment to investigate why taoodvisw and Tree Lane had not been dedicated, <br />minutes were approved as corrected. <br />Maqor Christman reported the following: 1) received certification of <br />election results on charter amendments from Board of Eiect-lo:?s aad are <br />correct as reported in newspapers. Full time Safety Director and Recall <br />passed - all others failed; 2) received executed agreement on Walk In <br />Park, transmitted deed eo SCate; all that remains is repapment for land <br />and construction of I 80; 3) Sewer Contract 15 is 77% complete - expect <br />notices to go out ia Jaauary. There remains grading, eeeaiag and some <br />cleanup work to be done. ConCract 16 ia about 87% ecmtplete - not3ces to <br />go out in FebruBry. Lift station to be completed - grading, seeding, <br />road resurfacing and other cleanup work to be done; 4) reeefved report <br />on accomplishment by Detective Gaunon of our police force in bringing to <br />justice a ring of car thieves. Mayor Christman commented it is hard to <br />pick out examples from the very effective work our policemen art doing but <br />this was an outstanding job done by DetectiveHi.ka Gannou while off duty. <br />ivtayar Chrfstman presenfied same to Council; 5) have proclamativn joining <br />with other cities throughout Cuyahoga County declaring Decemher 14th to <br />December 20, 1970, as Frisoner of War and Missing in Action Week in <br />North Olmsted, and urging each citizen to write to Minister Xuan Thuy, <br />Delegate of the D.R.V., Paris, France, asking release of all American <br />Prisoners; G) have proclamation honorin; Anna Roh-richt on her 100th <br />birthday which she will celebrate on December 31, 1970; 7) regarding <br />copy o£ piece of legislation for Council's study - would like to recommend <br />approval for the contraetual arrangement between the six weatshore comu- <br />nities for the Westahore Enforcement Bureau. This has been xeviewed by <br />the Law Director and he states that it is suitabl.e as copy shaws. Would <br />request enactment of it if Council is in agreement at the earllest t'-ne. <br />Service Dfrector Caster reported the fo7.la-ying: 1) planted 70 replacement <br />trees throughout the Citq last week. If there is a chance will replace <br />about 25 more treea on Nancy; 2) legislation tonight for repair of front <br />end loader. Service Director Caster poinred out that it was badlq in need <br />of repair and a decisian had to be made whether to sell it as is, or repair <br />and keep it. It was determined that the loader is needed at the landfill <br />at this time for gett3,ag rid of aludge from Treatment Plant. Will be <br />used mainly for this purpose, and also to build up toboggan slide. Repair
