The Committee considered <br />the needs of the Police Department as presented bq Chief Hird. Under <br />study are larger housing for the Police Department, more modern and <br />additional equipment and additional manpaaer. These needs are very <br />realistic and it is hoped that the Finsnce Committee will include thase <br />items in its 1971 budget; 2) in response to a petition from Canterbury <br />Woods' residents Che Committee recommends yellow and red warning signals <br />be installed to slaw traffice at the intersecticm of 3weetbriar and <br />Canterbury Roads which is used by e2emen:ary school pedestrians. <br />At this point Mrs. Hodgins made a motion that Council accept the recammen- <br />dation of the Safety Committee to amend the traffic control, map and file <br />to install yellow and red warning signals at the intersection of Sweetbriar <br />and Canterbury Roads. Motion was seconded by Mr. Boehmer. Affirsative <br />vote Boehmer, Grady, Hodgins, Limpert, Prokasy, Speedling, [aest. Motion <br />carried. <br />Continuing her report, Mra.
