Council Minutes of 10-3-72 <br />-2- <br />. 6) DaE•ra Drive -intend to do this late in Fall -last easement is in aa,d <br />have necessary engineering requisites. <br />Service Director Caster summarized some of the areas that have drainage problems: <br />Ambou-r Drive -expect to get into Aasbour after Dawn Drive <br />Lessner Road area -between Lessner and Lorain Road. <br />Relocation of Burns Road ditch <br />Lorain -Columbia interaectivtt which he weld like to solve this Winter <br />Columbia Road area north of Lorain mad on hoth the east and west side. <br />7) At present are advertising for Walter Road repaving, an engineering <br />vehicle, cinders and salt. <br />S) will have a list of equipment for next Finance Committee meeting. <br />Mrs. Beringer, Chairman Bnviroamtental Control Committee, reported the <br />following: Attended a joint meeting amount the Legislative and Utilities <br />Chairment of Berea, Brookpark, Parma, Parma fights, Strongsville, Forth <br />Royalton, North Olmsted, Olmsted Falls and Middleburg Heights on Sep r <br />3fl, 1972, at Middleburg Heights City Hall, Mr. Giesler was also in attendance. <br />Purpose of this co~amittee is to exchange Information and thinking on various <br />subjects that some are prssentlq involved in and others maq have to face in <br />the near future. Best interest of constituents will be served by such an' <br />exchange. Mutual cooperation and even united stands on various topics pre- <br />sented now or in the future will benefit all. Among the topics discussed <br />were Senate Bill X499, house B111 x'1143, support of Akron's Phosphate Bea, <br />non-returnable bottle ban, recylcing waste and garbage. Mr. Cimperton, a <br />Councilman from Cleveland, was going to introduce an ordinance prohibiting <br />the sale of non-returnable bottles and asked Committee's support. Next meet- <br />ing to be held on December 2, 1972, at 10:04 a.m., at Berea City Hall. Any <br />councilman interested in attending is welcome. <br />Mrs. Beringer scheduled an Bnvironmeatal Control Cottmiittee meeting on <br />October 11, 1972, 7:30 P.M., City Hall, regarding the updating of City's <br />ordinance to conform with new State Code. Requested attend~ce of Fire <br />Chief, Asst. Fire Chief, Building Commissioner, Safety Director and Lase <br />Director. <br />Mr. Boehmer, Chairman Public Safety, Health & Welfare Committee reported <br />this Committee met on September 25, 1972, and discussed and reviewed the <br />following: 1) request for "no parking" signs on Midvale sad Committee <br />approved same; <br />2) re -banning of parking oa both side of Delmere Drive from Beaumont <br />to Claque and Coms~Lttee reco~emends banning of parking on bath sides; <br />3) request for the State Liquor Board to hold their hearings in Cleveland <br />instead of Columbus, which would eliminate necessity of having to go to <br />Columbus every time City objects to a permit; <br />4) All traffic lights or signal lights will go before the Transportation <br />Coffinittee instead of Safety Committee. <br />Mr. Giesser, Chairman Intro Governmental Relations & Legislation Coamttee, <br />reported this Committee met on September 23, 1972, and reviewed and discussed <br />the followings 1) Mr. Rush's allegations in regard to Mr. Koontz. Mr. <br />Koontz was present at the meeting. Committee talked with Mr. Koontz. This <br />Committee recommends that the complaint ~tde by Mr. Rush be rejected.. Mr. <br />Giesser read a letter from Mr. Prokasy to the Pres~.dent of Council regarding <br />
