Mr. Giesser stated Mr. Koontz has served before on three or <br />four Commissions in the City and has performed his job ac~mixablq. <br />Mr. Giesler made a motion that the complaint of Mr. Rush be rejected, seeded <br />by Mr. Prokasy. Affar~tive vote E r, Giesler, Lampert, Prokasy, <br />Sariager, Speedling, West. Nation carried. <br />2) External Housing Maantenance Code -this is presently being drafted and <br />wi11 be submitted to Council; <br />3)ttniform bicycle ordinance which was presented to the City by Lakewood - <br />Committee is presently reviewing this and will submit it to the Police <br />Department for their recommendations; <br />4) Swimming Pool ordinance -Committee rec ds the ordin~mce be changed <br />to make two classifications of pools -one public which would be a $40. fee <br />and one private which would be a $15. fee and wi11 include prefabricated <br />pools -any pool over 18" in depth. <br />Mr. Lampert, Chairman Finance Committee reported this Committee met and <br />reviewed request from Streets & Drainage Comffii.ttee for approval of money <br />to consaruct an 18" storm drain to correct a flooding area between G~saner <br />and Lorain Rd. Estimated coat is approximately $3500 to $4000. Committee <br />reviewed plans and recommends approval. <br />Mr. Lampert made a motion that Council request legislation to s11ow the <br />Service Director to advertise for bids to complete this program. Motion was <br />seconded by Mr. Prokasy. Affirmative vote Boehmer, Giesser, Lampert, Prokaay, <br />Saringer, Speedling, tdest. Motion carried. <br />The possibility of City forces doing. this work was discussed. If funds are <br />provided for in the appropriation ordinance that will be upcoming the City <br />could handle it. This will be left up to the discretion of the Service <br />Director. <br />Mr. Speedling, Chairman Transportation Committee reported this Committee <br />met on October 2, 1972, and reviewed the following: 1) Contract for bus <br />turn-around area at west end of Lorain Rd. -Contract is presently in hands <br />of owner for acceptance; <br />2) reviewed proposed agreement for hue advertising space with Metrasesdia, <br />Inc. -Present contract will expire on December 31st. Will request legis- <br />lotion for a new agreement. <br />Mr. West, Chairman Building, Zoning & Development Committee, sad Lang Range <br />Planning Committee reported the following: A joint meeting of Planning <br />Commission, Citizens Adv3,eary Committee on Land Use, Council, aaa~d a r+epre- <br />sentative of Regional Planning Consiasion was held on Seeptee~ex 21, 19F2, <br />to discuss the 70i Grant contract, which was signed on August 22nd providing <br />funds for a land use study similar to what was done five years ago. The <br />study and technical services to bs furnished by the Regional Fla~aisg Cc-mmis- <br />sion are pretty comprehensive. This contract provides, and it is a must, <br />that there be citizen participation. The Citizsxes Advisory Coemettee on <br />Land Use will be used for this purpo~ee.
