Council Minutes of Maq 16, 1972 -2- <br />Mr. Limpert, Chairnsn Finance Canrittee, ra~ported the fe>lloriasg: all wage <br />negotiations have been completed. To update Ccw~ttcil: <br />1) Fire and Ponce Depa~rtnsnts ~ on a 4x increase, retroactive to <br />January 1, 1972, with a sum. of $-18fl. a~dds~d to fawily hospitalsatiow plan. <br />Single person to receive 4X increase x+stroactiv+s to January 1st and covered <br />under single parson's portion of ha~epita2isatian; <br />2) 5er»i.cs Department a;reed tin a 4S tncrsase retroactive to January 1, <br />1972, with a sum of $I3t3. added to faseily hospitalisation plan; <br />3) ~uilding.Departnent agreed on a 4x increase retroactive to January 1, <br />1972, with a sum of $154, added to faeeily hospit~t].i.zatian plan; <br />4} Engineering and Adninistrstion Departn~ts agreed on a 5 1/2X increase <br />effective April 1, 1972; <br />5) a coiained meeting of Traa€a-portation Coe^eiteee, Fiaaesece Coaei.ttee and <br />bus driver representatives resulted in a 5 1i2X increase retroactive to <br />March 1, 1972 -nothing toward hospitalisation. <br />Mr. Spssdling, Chairmaaa Transportation Committee, reported this Comaittee <br />met with Finance Commeittae and bus driver representatives and Mr. Limgert <br />reported results of that meeting. <br />Mr. blest, Q-airasn Building, Zoning S Development Casacittee and LomEg Mange <br />Planning Coa~ittea reported the Suildir-g, Zoning b De~nslopsont Committee <br />met on May 15, 1972 and revisw~t and discussed the followin;: <br />1) Resoning from Mead flee to Conm~ercal of property commmc+sly called "I1og <br />~ Suds. After hearing oseer has contra~et to sell this property as a bs~ty <br />parlor sad property will not be used as a tavern or airy plaeee ser+~~g liquor, <br />Committee requested legislation be put on agenda and recomnsnds resonisg be <br />approved; <br />2) Grace Manor cansi~-ting of coadc~riaiuws on Brookpark Rd. near Grace Ave. <br />and Georgette Ave. Discussed with navy peerple who wars at nesting the <br />traffic problss. Commiittes obtained agreaasnt frost owners that the roadway <br />off Eton Grace would be octe way in, and that a fence would be put along the <br />property lines. Aairewr, traffic should be studied by an expert and the <br />Mayor has agreed to contract for sane. Hopefully this should be available <br />so that Batter can cone up far June meeting. Mr. best stated there is nothing <br />wrong with the develop~w-nt - it meets all requirements of the City's Code; <br />the only question is traffic; <br />3) Presentation by Claxi~in's in cvn~ctian with request fur rezoning; also <br />listened to comments Eton a nunbsr of people at meeting. CQmmd.ttee decided <br />that they would recona~end to Council to go ahead with legislation to net up <br />a Public Searing. However, in view of the fact that the Plaening Coaaeissian <br />has turned down this request and, therefore, would require a 2/3 vats of all <br />of Council for adoption: <br />Mr. West mete a motion that Council accept the Building, Zoning i Devslapm~ent <br />Commd.ttee's recanmw~ation to go ahead with a Public Rearing. Motion was <br />seconded by Mr. Giessen. <br />Mr. Li~srt coemeentsd he can appreciate Mr. West's position as Chairnaa of <br />the Committee and the progoaal before Corittee - one which deseraes consid- <br />eration. Sa~ever, in view of respo~e Couneii has already recswdl o~rosng <br />this proposal and Eros past experience, Mr. LimQert feels the Casenitte: wou3.d be <br />.~~~~ <br />
