Council Minutes of April 4, 1972 _2_ <br />authorizing Service Director to advertise for bids on Slag, Diesel fuel <br />and motor oil, Gasoline, Asphalt, Insurance -blanket coverage for City, <br />iVew Tires, ?tecapping of Tires; also, legislation authorizing Service <br />Director to advertise for bids for labor and material to add capacity <br />to the LeBern Lift Station. <br />Mr. Speedling, Chairnu~ Transportation Coasnittee, reported this Committee <br />met on March 22nd and discussed the folloc,~ing: 1) income and expense report <br />of bus line for fixst taro months of operation in 1972; 2) driver salary <br />requests which rase held in abeyance pending; additional information from <br />Service Director and Bus Line Adm~.nistration; 3) need for a ne*r turn- <br />around area at west end of City for buses. On March 29th, tor. Speedling <br />and Public [corks Commissioner Bart [deldon attended a meeting at Berea <br />City Hall ~•a~,ere a representative of Ford Motor Co. lave a presentation <br />on "Dial A Bus" and explanation of various cities where it is operating <br />and whole theory of how it is supposed to work. Evening of March 29th <br />Transportation Committee met and '+tr, r.-eldon gave a report on 'bial A Bus". <br />Following items were also discussed: 1) driver salary requests; 2) possible <br />economies for bus line; 3) reduced fare schedule for senior c~.tizens. <br />Cowaittee agreed to give some r~educesd fares to senior citizens or golden <br />alters of a~;e 65 and over, and legislation for eases *aill be renuested. <br />In absence of Mr. [lest, 4fiairman Building, Zoning & Development Co~ni.ttee, <br />?4r. Giesser reported the follcxring: Building, Zoning & Development Comsssittee <br />met and reviewed Blossc~ Dover Subdivision Sl final plat and iss~rovement <br />plans and recommends approval. <br />At this time Mr. Giesser made a rsotion that Council approve the final plat <br />and improvement plans of Blossom Dover Subdivision #1. piotion was <br />seconded by *4r. Boehsaer. Affirmative vote Boehmer, Giesser, Lampert, <br />Pro?taay, Sarin~;er, Speediin~;. ?~4otian carried. <br />2) reviewed parl.inp layout for Tony Thomas at [dhitethorn Ave. and Lorain Rd. <br />and recommends approval. (Parking lot to be enlars=ed, etc.) <br />At this time P4r. Giesser made a rtiotion that Council approve the parking <br />layout of Tony Thomas. ?4otioa c;tas seconded by i~4r. ?iaeh~r. Affirmative <br />vote 3oehmer, Giesser, Lir~ert, Pro?:asy, Sarins;er, Soeedlinr~. t4otion carried. <br />In. absence of Mr. [des t, 4iairman Lane Range Planning Conuaittee, Mr. Speedling <br />reported the following: Long; Range Planning Committee met on March 23th <br />with Council as a Committee of the !dhole and reviewed plans submitted by <br />George S. Rider Company far the Sealtest land and specifically for a police <br />station and office building.. All of Council Caere in attendance and they <br />voted to have the Mayer request Rider ~ Company draw up final plans for a <br />police station suitable for advertising for bids. <br />LETTERS, Ct}T~H4UNICATIt}TI: <br />Clerk read petition from Decdcer Road Residents regarding Forest City <br />enterprise being developed between Decker and *ZcKentie Roads. Overhead <br />electric lines are to be installed on a ten foot eaaemQnt Eras rear of <br />adjoining residential properties. Residents are objecting to this because <br />they already have overhead lines in front of their hcsste. Petition re- <br />quested Administration to bear prea~sure on developer to go to a more <br />attractive way. <br /> <br />
