<br />Council Minutes of I-1$-72 -2- <br />Committee meeting at the airport, giving a tour of the touter, and showing <br />a movie telling ghat the F.A.A. is doing to remady problems of noise abate- <br />ment and also slides on proposed jet port. Nesting was set for February <br />25th, 6:OQ p.m. Ia conclusion, Co~aittee Chairman said tie would write a <br />letter to Los Angeles to see how they cops with the probh; get iu touch <br />with Mayor Perk for his coopezatian. It was reported the City of Cleveland <br />is getting noise monitoring equip~t. Committee decided to advise people <br />through local newspapers of the fors~ation of this cosmitt~, what they are <br />doing and that the Federal Govercmmsst is interested and will hslp where <br />ever they can. AC a later date each committee member will have movie and <br />slides shown in their awn coarawmity for the public. <br />2) there is a public meeting on January 19, 8:15 p.m., in the Federal <br />Bldg. co-sponsored by the U.S. Army Corps Engineers and Ohio Dspt. of <br />Natural Resources to discuss current and future actions of the Wastewater <br />t;anagement Study now being undertalumn for the Cleveland Akron Metropolitan <br />Area and Three Rivers Watershed District. Anyone interested is welcome. <br />Mr. Giesser, Chairman Infra Governmental Relations & Legislation Committee, <br />reported this Committee met and recommends approval of Mr. Robert Elliott <br />to the Planning Commission. <br />At this time Mr. Giesser made a motion that Council approve the appointment <br />of Mr. Robert Elliott to the Plasazing Co~nission for a term snding 12/31/76. <br />Motion was seconded by Mr. Prokaay, Affirmative vote Boehmer, Giesser, <br />Lampert, Prokasy, Saringer, Speedling, West. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Speedling, Chairman Transportation Coaanittee, called fora Transpor- <br />tation Committee meeting on January 26, 1972, 8:00 P.M., City Hall. <br />Mr. West, Chairman Building, Zoning & Development Committee and Long <br />Range Planning Committee reported the Building, Zoning & Development <br />Committee met on January 11th and reviewed the following: <br />1) North Olmsted Garden Estates proposal for apartments on land which <br />had been rezoned mixed use. Aowever, there is one part of thus parcel <br />that is not being used and Mr. West has written the Law Director asks: <br />for a ruling as to what happens to this parcel in view of the fact that <br />it was included in our original intention and it is not now there, and <br />the problem of what is going to be done with this piece of ground. Gave <br />not heaxtfrom Lacy Director and, therefore, Committee is holding up any <br />action on this. <br />2) re -Peter Lasch Subdivision which will make two lots out of one on <br />North Park Drive -Committee has approved and will request legislation <br />for record purposes only. <br />Mr. Prokasy, Chairman Recreation, Public Parks & Building Committee and <br />Streets b Drainage Committee, reported at a Recreation Commission meeting <br />the Commission proposed several changes in Ordinance -one which would <br />Hermit some increase in pay for the assistants and playground directors <br />who have worked through consecutiwt summers, and, also, a change that <br />would permit the Recreation Dept. to have "funded type" programs - <br />specialized programs that hays had rather high costs and paid instructors <br />in a sense that the fee charged for the course is equivalent to that which <br /> <br />
