Council Minutes of 1-18--72 '3' <br />the instructor is paid in certain specialized art fields. These <br />recommendations were given to Mr. Prokasy tonight and his Committee <br />will take them under advisement. <br />Mr. Prokasy called for a Streets & Drainage Committee meeting on January <br />24, 1972, 7:30 P.M., prior to Highway Patrol Meeting and requested Mr. <br />Delmaz Ernest to be in attendance. <br />People Addressing Council: <br />Mr. Lou Nagy, 5155 Douglas Drive, representing the taest Park Forest Ridge. <br />Civic Association, discussed the problem in: the neighborhood of speeding, <br />and the area at the north end of Berkshire at the curve where cars. are <br />continuously running up over tree lawts. Feels it is a dsmrerous situation <br />and requested Council's urgent action. Discussion followed. Mr. Nagy said <br />recently a stop sign has been put up at the end of the road but understands <br />sign is going to be taken down and reflectors will be put up in tree lawn. <br />Does not_.feel this will be sufficient. Ae favors a guard rail with <br />reflectors. Mr. West stated he is familiar with area sad when he was <br />there on one occasion, property owners resisted a barricade sud asked if <br />they have been contacted. Mr. Boehaie~ said he has witnessed car tracks <br />on tree lawns, feels somethim; has to be dose.. Mr. Boehmer said he would <br />take this up in Cos~nittee meeting on January 25, 1972, 8:00 F.M., and <br />invited Council and Service Director Caster to attend. <br />Mr. A. Monzo, 28710 Berkshire, stated he is the property owner suffering <br />the damage of which Mr. Nagy spoke. Aas lived there seven months and <br />lawn has beau ran over five times. Feels this is a dangerous situation <br />for his two year old who will be riding his bike. Feels stop sign is an <br />excellent idea but Mr. Maazo was informed the sign is illegal. Ae was <br />told the only way a stop sign could be pit up is if Council voted it in, <br />and made it law. Does not feel.a guard rail is the answer because it <br />will look like a "mass" and all of property owners will be unhappy. Mr. <br />Monzo feels the solution is to keep the stop sign there, pass the law,.. <br />and allow the Police Dept. to enforce same. <br />President O'Neill said by nsxt Council meeting, the Public Safety, Health <br />& tJelfare Committee will come up with recommendation. <br />Mr. Robert Englesom, 6168 Stafford Drive, President of cicianis Club of North <br />Olmsted read following: "Kiwanis Club of North Olmsted, as a gublic service, <br />has decided to establish a reward fund for information leading to tlu arrest <br />and conviction of the person or persons who murdered Mrs. Judy Aaputa on <br />Decea~er 15, 1971. Amy citizen who has information regarding any of the <br />circumstances concerning Mrs. Judy Haputa's death should contest the <br />Detective Bureau of the Forth Olmsted Police Department at 777-1234. Amy <br />information will be kept in confidence. Contributions are solicited from <br />ail organizations and citizens. Contributions may be mailed to JtJlly BAPUTA <br />RE~IARD COI~QTTEE, P. 0. Box 105, North 0ltasted, Ohio, 44070." <br />Mr. Joseph Olen, 26474 Sweetbrier Drive, discussed problem of a light, <br />similar to a street light, which his neighbor has installed fn rear of <br />property. Light shines on Mr. Olen's house and invades his privacy. <br />Mayor Christman and Mr. Boeiseer discussed matter. It was brought out the <br />
