There
were none. Affirmative vote Baehmer, Giessen, Limpert, Prokasy, 5aringer,
Speedling, ?dest. Motion carried.
President O'Neill thanked Mr. Lampert for excellent fob he did in 1971.
Service Director Caster reported on the installation of propane carburetors
in two of the new police cars and the tank recently installed is rear
yard of City Hall which is the fueling station for these cars. He stated
propane fuel may be added to some of the service vehicles and other vehicles
of the City in the near future, This to serve a two fold purpose: 1) the
emission of gases are below government standards and probably will be for
years to come through the use of propmne fuel; 2) hope to achieve lower
maintenance costs on these vehicles. Will keep close track of the two
vehicles which will be on xegular gasoline - hope to have a fairly good
comparison and will report back in about six months as to operation and
maintenance. Discussion continued.
Law Director Kitchen reported that during the pexiod between Christmas
and New Years, the Court of !peels advised that we had won our case
in the Court of Appeals - Sinclair vs. the City of North Olmsted. This
~~^ case had been won in the lower court and Court of Appeals upheld the
lower court's decision. Also, wnn another case in Rocky River Court and
has submitted check in amount of $SO(?. to Finance Director.
Mr. West called for a Building, Zoning; & Development Committee meeting
on January 11, 1972, 7:30 P.M., City Hall.
Mr. West reported Law Director Kitchen advised him that passing of a
resolution authorizing the Mayor to accept the land for cluster develop-
ment on Sandy Ridge 9-10-11-12 is not enough. This was done at last
Council Meeting. Mr. facet requested legislaticm authorizing the Mayor
to accept the land for the cluster develag~nt.
Mr. ?nest stated he is in receipt of letter from Mr. Delmar Ernest and
would like to publicly acknsxaledge and answer same. Mr. Ernest states
that at Planning Com~aission meeting an November 9th there was a discussion
of land deeded to the City for recreational or school use by the developers
of cluster subdivision, pextainng specifically to Bretton Ridge develop-
ment. Mr. Ernest had the impression that Mr. West stated the land which
is the recreation area for Bretton Ridge was the land that was donated to
the City. Mr. West stated this is not true - the land that was donated
as a result of all of the Bretton Ridge subdivisions was deeded to the
City and it is the area vn which Spruce School is located plus considerable
more land in that very same arse which is a wooded area and this land runs
to back lots of Stearns Road and a~.so to back lots an McKenaie Road. In
addition to the land they develapex also gave the City a substantial sum of
money to buy same additional land in that same area fvr an access over to
Steams Road. Mr. West reu, ueated Clerk to answer Mr. Ernest officially.
