Council Minutes of 11-7-73 <br />-2- <br />Mr, West, Chairtan Building, Zoning 6 Development Committee and Long Range <br />Planning Committee, reported that Planning Commission requested an extension <br />beyond 30 days on Columbia Village. <br />Mr. West moved that Council authorize the Planning Commission to take more <br />than 30 days on Columbia Village. Motion seconded by Mr. Giessen. Affirmative <br />vote: Boehmer, Giessen, Limpert, Beringer,. Speedling, taest. Motion carried. <br />Mr. West scheduled a Building, Zoning 6 Bevelopment Committee meeting on <br />November 12, 1973, at 8:15 P.M., City Hall. <br />In absence of Mr. Prokasy, Mr. West reported as a member of the Streets b Drainage <br />Committee, that a Committee meeting was held with property owners on McKenzie <br />and Forest Ridge Drive who were having a drainage problem at which time Engineer <br />presented a drainage plan slang with cost estimates. Seven out of ten residents <br />affected were in attendance. There was almost unanimous agreement by residents <br />that they were willing to pap their part of the cost. It was agreed that further <br />steps would noW be taken to see what is needed to be done with the two other <br />property owners who have not authorized right of way on their property which is <br />needed for the drainage. Engineering Dept. is working on this. Committee's <br />recommendation is to proceed and for Finance Committee to take City's cast under <br />advisement. <br />Mrs. Saringer, as newly appointed Chairman of Public Safety, Health & Welfare <br />Committee, announced she will be collecting donations -food, money, clothing <br />for needy families in City for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years, and re- <br />quested people, organizations interested in helping to contact her. Mayor Christman <br />stated the City has contacted churches and schools and have a list of the needy <br />families. Mrs. Saringer to coordinate project. <br />Mrs. Saringer scheduled a Public Safety, Health & G?elfare Committee meeting on <br />November 13, 1973, at 7:45 P.M., City Hall. <br />People Addressing Council: <br />Mary Ann Stipek, 24414 Maria Lane, representing the Right To Life Group recently <br />formed in City, addressed Council regarding upcoming legislation on abortion <br />clinics - interested that this come up immediately. Mr. Giessen told Mrs. Stipek <br />she can contact him to find out when legislation will come up. <br />Mr. Delmar Ernest, 30106 Lorain Rd., addressed Council on following: report of <br />Mr. Limpert; status of initiative petition on Stearns Rd.s if Citizens Advisory <br />Committee has scheduled meeting to present final recommendations on Comprehensive <br />Plan. Mr. Ernest stated if initiative petition is available he would be happy <br />to c•rculate same. Mr. idest stated initiative petition is proceeding - was <br />delayed. Citizens Advisory Group may meet in November. <br />LEGISLATION: <br />Resolution No. 73-80 introduced by Mr. West was given its third reading. A <br />Resolution accepting for record purposes only the easterly extension of Country <br />Club Boulevard from the existing terminus eastwardly, and declaring an emergency. <br />Mr. West moved for adoption, seconded by Mr. Boehmer. Affirmative vote: Boehmer, <br />Giessen, Limpert, Saringer, Speedling, West. Motion carried. Res. No. 73-80 <br />adopted. <br />
