O'Neill, Councilmen Giessen, Go~gin, Lampert, <br />Saringer, 3hnrpe, ~Jilam©sky. <br />.Also present: Mayor Ralph Christm~a Law Director Michael Gareau, Finance <br />Director William Qe~ctsrh., Ssfoty Director RaymoBd Carnahan, City <br />Engineer J. Ii+cn-ard Childs, Clark of Council Nora Hill. <br />Absent: Councilman F~est. <br />*ieting was called to order by President O'Neill at 8:40 P.M. <br />Minutes of Council Meeting of December 3, 1974, were approved as read. <br />P~tayor Christman reported following: 1) Council in receipt of rec bons <br />Pram Mayor and Advisorq Board of I~epartmsnt of Human Resources on the Director <br />for that Department and would be glad to line up an interview with Mr. Copeland; <br />2) would Tike to recomsend that Council consider authorizing the hiring of a <br />independent consulting firm to review the work that has bin done at the Treatment <br />Plant to see. if anything has been overlooked in the odor problem - will look at <br />this after the first of the year if it is Council's desire; <br />3}Lorain Rd. traffic signals are now all hooked up and receiving their sisal on <br />when to change from reel to green; trot d~a~as not think the sequencs is quite right <br />yet. The Dewey Decker light and ttu: Whitettxorn light hays been r as was <br />required by the total pro~ect« They are working on the ssquestcp to sus sate it <br />is the proper and bast Deus for the road; and hapss all will be goisig well sh~-rtly; <br />4) County have advertised and trays bids in an the Brookpark Road sectf~On for <br />re-doing the traffic signals and understand from Safety Director they said they <br />would award that contract; <br />5) have received a copy of letter from Building CocrsAissioner Gus;dy on <br />ordinance requiring the display of gasoline prices: He notes there are 29 <br />stations in operation aid were notified. 21 have signs out and were approved; <br />8 did not approve and theq are supposed to have them all corrected by December <br />30th. <br />Mr. rdilarnosky inquired if Mr. Gandy in his report indicated that these signs <br />were posted on the island pez the legislation. Mayor stated he indicated that <br />there were 21 approved - he did not say whether they were on the island or <br />where they were supposed tote posted - evidently he felt they were satisfactory. <br />President O'NeiI1 referred Mayor's recomsendation to Mr. tiilamosky, Chairman <br />Intro Governmental Relations & Legislation Committee. <br />Mrs. Saringer, Chairman Environ~aental Control Committee and Long Range Planning <br />Comaittee, reported following: 1) Cam~nittee Meeting was held on Decea~er 12th. <br />In attendance were Mr. Childs, Mr. Caster and Mr. Porter and Committee rs. <br />DiscuGssed installation of a pollution abatement burner for the Treatt Plant. <br />Qur contract with O.W.D.A. does state that they are committed to provide u: <br />~,, with equipment that does not produce obnoxious odors. However, the people in <br />the area are running out of patience and although the Zimpro people are still <br />
