Installing this burner would be on a non-interfering <br />basis. It would not be installed near the Zispro building but an the oxidized <br />sludge building. Therefore, the Coamittee recomsmnded we proceed with the <br />legislation to advertise for bids for construction and asseaitly of the burner. <br />Also discussed the possibility of an outside study being done. The Service <br />Director will talk to so®e eca~ltanta and find out what a stuely will cost, <br />A meeting will be set up with an 1,ndepatdet-t engineering fire zight after the <br />first of the year. Then the Committee wi11 decide whether to proceed with a <br />study of our plant and odor abatessmt techaigws; <br />2) In regard to solid waste co].].ectf=oa fox cos~mercial - Committee reviewed <br />Law Director's legal opiniom and reviewed procedures of surrounding cities. <br />Coaeuittee would like to see a charge set for commercial pick-up if at all feasible. <br />However, are awaiting some final figures before we proceed with legislation. <br />Mr. Go$gin, Chairman Streets 8 Drainage Committee, scheduled a Streets & Drainage <br />Committee Meeting on January 2, 1975, 8:110 P.M., City Hall. <br />Mr. Giesser, Chairman, Building, Zoning 8 Development Coaa~ittee and Recreation, <br />Publfc Parks 8 Ba~iidings, reported the B.Z.B D. Cosm~ittee met on December 14, <br />1974, and had input from the Citism3ns Advisory Committee, Regional Planning <br />ComQissian and Planning Com~Lssion of the City regarding the Cosg-rehanaive Plan. <br />Also there were approxirately 144 participants in audience who participated in <br />the discussion giving their pros and Gone for the Comprehensive Plan. The <br />Committee will reschedule another meeting on Decee~ er 30, 1974, 7:00 P.I~7., City Hall <br />Mr. I,impert, Chairman Finance Committee, reported this Committee met twice - once <br />on December 12, 1974, with the Fire & Police ATegotiating Comiaittees to go over <br />some of their requests for salaries and benefits far 1975; <br />2) Committee also met on Dece~er loth, followiAg Mr. Giesser's meeting, and <br />went over the 1975 budget - areas where attention will be needed. Camarittee came <br />to conclusion that it is going to be a very strict budget fox 1975 and wi11 meet <br />again upon completion of meetings with other people to go into this further. <br />Mr. Wilamosky, Chairman Intra Govertal Relations 8 Legislation Commmittee, <br />reported this Cos~m3.ttee met on Dscsd~e~ 10, 1974. All Come~.ttee Members were <br />is attendance, Council President O'Neill, Law Director Gareau and Gouncilwoman <br />Sharpe. The Committee had begun to review Chapter 121 of Codified Ordinances <br />entitled Aules of Council. Committee has no recomasndationa at this time but <br />wi11 have recomiaendatioas to amend the Rules of Council upon completion of <br />Gommittee's work; <br />2) On l~ov. 19th of this pear Mrs. Sharpe addressed Council sad voiced displeasure <br />at the conditions of the premises at the now closed Standard Dil Service Station <br />on corner of Whitethorn & Lorain Rd.; and the a1d car wash at Bailey 8 Lorain Rd. <br />Mrs. Sharpe requested this Come3.ttee to meet with her and to find a solution to <br />these problems. Law Director Gareau was in attendance and informed this Committee <br />and Mrs. Sharpe that ordinances do exist which would be useful to resolve these <br />matters. Mrs. Sharpe informed Committee she would contact Building Commissioner <br />Gundy regarding these matters; <br />3) Committee also reviewed two proposals to recodify the Traffic Code to comply <br />~,,, with H.B. 995 adapted bq the State Lesislature sad which becomes effective <br />~,,: January 1, 197S.
