The Justinian Publishing Co. will supply the City with 100 <br />copies of the Traffic Cade at a cost of also $1400. The Committee recom~sends <br />that Council adopt Ord. Na. 74-1b7 s+hieh authorises the Mayor to enter into a <br />contract with Walter H. Drape Co. to supply the City with 125 copies of the <br />Traffic Code at a cast of $1400. Legislation is on agenda tonight. <br />Mrs. Sharpe, Chairman Public Safety, Health & Welfare Camtaittee, rsported Committee <br />has received three app2icatia~ from Iaspartakat of Liquor Control: for a D-5 <br />permit to Chinese Palace, Inc., dba Chinese Palace Restaurant, 4625 Grest Northern <br />Blvd. Committee has no ob,~ections to this application; <br />2) for a D-3 permit to Staaly Yee, dba China House Restaurant, 27087 Lorain Rd. <br />Committee has no objections to this application; <br />3)D-3 permit to Ohio Puss Corp., 26127 Lorain Rd: On October 31, 1974 - a new <br />D-1, D-2 and D-3 permit was applied far by Dorothy B. Regnatz, 2bI2'7 Lorain Rd. <br />and Committee had ~ objections to these applications. Co~ai.ttee would like to <br />request a hearing on application to Ohio Pizza Corp., 26127 Lorain Rd., for a <br />new D-3 permit. <br />4) Thanksgiving baskets for needy was a huge success and were able to take care <br />of 40 families in North Olmsted. <br />Mr. Lampert, fn absence of Mr. West, Chairman Transportation Committee, gave <br />following report: Transportation Comsd.ttee met with the Utilities & Environmental <br />Committee of Fairview Park City Council and went over the financing of our bus <br />line. E~cplaiaed where and hear we are running at a deficit of approximately <br />$90,000. for pear 1974. It was pointed out to that Comtittee that since June <br />the fuel prices have tripled; also, effective May all hours worked over 48 hours <br />was time and one~alf for drivers. Our labax cost in 1974 not cou~nt~.ng overtime <br />was $50,000. over 1973 and overtime coat was approximately $8,000. Also pointed <br />out what steps we would like to take to overcome this deficit. The runs that <br />we are proposing to cut out axe runs that average 1 1/2 to 2 people on the bus. <br />It was also explained the cost that will cam about to North Olasted resgarding <br />our request for a federal grant for near buses: Cost of new buses to the City is <br />20X fvr our share of the federal grant. Also pointed out the overall monies that <br />we will save to offset the deficit we do have. The Fairview Park Council CammittPp <br />was going to take this proposal before their Council last night but have not heard <br />outcome; <br />2) Following that meeting Committee met with drivers to explain to them what our <br />proposals were to keep then abreast as to what was happening on bus line. In that <br />meeting the Drivers Committee presented the Transportation Committee with their <br />request for wage increases and fringe benefits which will be taken into the Finance <br />Committee. <br />Mr. Goggin stated he would like to make a request of the Transportation Committee: <br />While he knows it is a large expense on the mini bus service he has received a <br />host of calls over the weekend requestiag that we da whatever we can to retain <br />that service. Mr. Goggin stated on behalf of Ward 1 people that use that service <br />would like very such for Committee to see if in some say they can retain t~xat <br />service. Mr. Lampert stated Mr. West had called him this evening regarding this. <br />Mr. West had done same checking on this over the weekend; and the cast for a ride <br />per person would be rather high; but he wanted to express his~self that he was <br />going to pursue this sad the Committee will puxsue the possibility of this particu- <br />lar project.
