Lowest bid came to $82,000. lower than what was projected by the architect; 3) B.Z.6 D. Co~re.ttee sat car October 9th and discussed the Sauter Ae-Subdivision which was pasared last year. There was a discr~ancy on the surveying and one lot turned out to be uxrdersised because of the inadequacy of the surveyor. Since C`hsn the owner had received a varian+ca on tics one parcel and present parcel is 51.88 ft. and Committee reviewed it and legislation is on arganda recoswendng this rcyval; 4} B.Z.&D. Coms3.ttee held a Public Hearing ~ Rec Canter an October 10, 1974, with approxisately 150 in attendance and 9~ were in favor of the R,ec Center. His raca~sndations are to include above the base bid of $2,428,328. - $18,OtN? for a Z00 car parking area and also to include the practice tint which is a ogre tiers deal -either we put it on now or it would be very costly to try to do in future. Rini would amount to $104,000. The architect's total recossandation has ixw up with a building and construction cost of $2,548.694. which 1-T ings the total projeet to complstion with land purchase, etc. at $3.,362,218. It was the opinion of the C+~eerittee that these figures bs turned over to a finahcial analyst who warke with City with rsspsct to our bonded indebtedness and by the middle of next week we will be recefvit~g word back Stating how aruch ae can go ahead with and his recommendations. Comsittee will not ask for a motion to accept bids tonight; but wi11 be calling a Special Meeting of Council to accept the bids if that is the wish of Council. Reas+~n: Haut Council Meeting will be held on Mc~ve~aber 6, 1974, which will be 29 days after the bids were opened and the requirea~ant is that theq stay firm for 30 days. This is cutting it pretty tight and believes everyone is is agreement to hold a Special Council Meeting.
