Council Minutes of 9-3-74 <br />-2- <br />Mr. Wilamosky moved to remove Ord. No. 74-112 from agenda, seconded by Mr. West. <br />Affirmative vote: Glasser, Goggin, Lampert, Saringer, Sharpe, West, Wilamosky. <br />Motion carried. <br />President O'Neill referred Ord. No. 74-112 back to Mr. Wilamosky, Chairman Intra <br />Governmental Relations & Legislation Coaad.ttee. <br />Service Director Caster reported following: 1) to update oa Treatment Plant - still <br />experiencing some odor problems. Trying to work out bugs in the catalytic burner. <br />Zimpro is also working on a new design for a different burner. Wi11 be having <br />another sleeting with Zimpro sad our coa~tltante is about a week; <br />2) referred matte to Finance Comcttt~ for request for legislation to advertise <br />for bids for salt, cinders, new tires asd reeang; and is preparing other <br />requests and would like to meet with Fin~ce CommLttee at first opportunity. <br />Mr. Limgert scheduled date of August 5, 1974. <br />Mr. Glasser asked Service Director Cast®r if there is anyway we can hire an <br />additional consultant in this field to review and back up what our present <br />consultants are doing regarding the Treatment Plant. 5eeas like the consultants <br />we have are progressing very slowly. Mr. Caster read a letter froom another <br />cansulting firm, written to Mr. Porter, superintendent. Letter stated that in <br />response to request for suggestions on odor conditions at the Treatment Plant <br />do not feel it would be appropriate to caea~ent as long as present consultants <br />are actively engaged in trying to resolae the condition. Mr. Gleaner asked if <br />we have ever considered getting rid of our present consultants. Mayor stated <br />not at this point. It is still p:rtcf their project to finish this up. They <br />are still trying to work this out - they are not satisfied with it either. <br />Mr. Lampert discussed with Mr. Caster manpower at the Treatment Plant - the people <br />calling in last weekend because of ilings, etc. and the pxoblem of filling these <br />call-offs. Wants to discuss this further. <br />Mr. Childs, City Engineer, reported following: 1) update Council on status of <br />work to repair breaks in the sanitary sewers. Reported on this previously and <br />pointed out that we had a contract underi-ay to reaair 47 breaks in the savers <br />in the Deerfield Subdivision. That work is now completed - contract is finished. <br />2) also ia~ a..prdvi.ous report indicated at that time we had written a follow-on <br />contract for some additional repair wank. Since then have finished the review <br />of that contract; have advertised for bids and have come up with a responsible <br />low bidder in Murry Hill Construction Coapax-y and are presently engaged in <br />negotiations. Hope to bring that to conclusion and have that contract underway <br />in a few more days; <br />3) reported status of a new s~diviaion consisting of West 308 St. and two short <br />cul-de-sac streets extending off of it. These are located south of Lorain nut <br />toward western end of City. Subdivision coming along very well - alI of the land <br />improvements are completed now -sewers are in - paving is done -sidewalks are an - <br />entrance to the subdivision -water mains are in. Have notified the dev~aloger and <br />builder that the building of hones can begin. Daly a few miter itan~s reining <br />to be completed by developer. Sing letter to the B.ZbD. Coss~ittae to request <br />legislation fox dedication of that subdivision. <br />Mrs. Beringer asked Mr. Childs what streets would be affected by the next construc- <br />tion for sanitary sewers. Mr. Childs stated they are all in the northeast section <br />of City and named same. <br />
