Result of all these repairs is a vary noticeable improeent; 2) have another contract that has bee~u wrttaa calling for the repair of an additional. 125 breaks also in the nartst section of City. 1ii11 be advertising for bids shortly. Mill have that contxa~ct underwa7r yet this year. With these 125 breaks repaired will then hays taken care of at least 952 of the breadcs in the sanitary sewers in the northeast section of the City where san~ers were in worst condition. Environmental Control Committee meeting was held following the meeting of Lang Rangy Planning Committee. Several questions were left unaaswered -one of whieh was if the City has ever checked into the use of a cowactor fbr gt-age colleatcra and, if not, would it be advisable - if the Service Director wishes - to have the Committee check into this further; 2) also discussed the posting of gasoline prices. Mrs. Basinger asked Service Director Costar about the casipactar. Service Director Caster stated there have bean various plans suggested and recoss~nded throughout this area on compacting, shredding, mulching and even a paNer plant. This has just bees in tale discvresion stage because, he believes, of the Coamty Gc~wissoners dragging their feet on the overall plan far solid waste disposal within the County. Mrs. Beringer asked if Service Director Caster is not in favor of the Caas+ittee going ahead and checking into the possibility of having a compactor for the City. Service Director Caster stated he would rather favor the Committee trying to spur the County Canp~oissioners into some action.
