Saringer, Chairman Environmental Control Committee and Long Raauge Planning <br />Committee, reported Environmental Control Committee meeting was held on April <br />$, 1974. Discussed situation of unc~-psd gss wells. Present map shows approxi- <br />mately I60 known gas walla. Of these it is not known how a-any are capped without <br />an extensive check of records in the Euitding Department. It would he desirable <br />to have the Fire Department, ovrer a period of time, to check nut present locations <br />and have a more up-to-date map available. Before getting an ordinance reQuf.r#.ng <br />propertq owners to vent the wells, it was decided to hall mother aaeting with <br />Fire Chief, Building Comsissioaer and Safety Director and look into this further; <br />2) Environmental Control Cos~aittee would like to go on record as being strongly <br />in favor of a leaf collection service and hopes the Administration will nee fit to <br />start in Fall; <br />3) Hopes the condition of the mulching site will be improved as far as appearance; <br />4) "Earth ~deek" is April 17th - 27th -hope averq citiaan in Morth 0ltmtted will <br />recognize this week and do their part to protect our environment; and take it <br />upon themselves to improve the ecology of their City by taking care of egesores <br />in their own yards. The Mayor has drawn up Proclamation which will be posted on <br />bulletin board. <br />Mr. Goggin, Chairman Streets & Drainage Committee, reported Committee met on <br />April 10, 1974. Mayor Christman reviewed the asses:meat schedule for the <br />Brookpark Extension and Cow~ittee is in agreement with it; <br />2) tire. Saringer's request for removal of 23I "Paper Street" has bey referred to <br />Engineering to check to be sure nD parcels would become 2andlacked; <br />3} Service Dept, has given to Committee a list of streets which require resurfacing.. <br />Most of the streets on the List are those which were on previous years' lists and <br />have never been done. tlhile Committee agrees these streets should tskeu care <br />of, would like to inspect the others to see if any others should be added to these <br />priorities; <br />4) read following report received from Mr. Weldon oa condition of 24'" storm <br />sewer running thru Messrs. Crock and Doroney's properties: T.V. Octo~rar 18, 1973: <br />Twenty five ft. from manhole at 5953 Porter the sewer was cracked but not crushed. <br />Remaining sewer in goad condition. Two laterals on rear propertq line, one from <br />north and one from south were connected to the 24" main. Apiece of 2 x 4 board <br />was removed from sewer." <br />Mr. Glasser, Chairman Building, Zoning & Development Committee and Recreation, <br />Public Parks ~ Building Comed.ttee, reported B. Z. & D. Co~aittee met on April <br />10, 1974 and reviewed following: 1) City Line, Inc. rezoning from A to B ~idential. <br />It is Committee's recoaa~ndation that this zoning be approved with restriction <br />that we create a straw man trust and deposit the City's propertq within that <br />subdivision in trust and brought back out with restrictions to A hues. This <br />would mean there would be Clams A homes built on Class B late in conformity <br />with surrounding development; <br />2) Groveland Gardens -from three lots to two. Committee recommended approval <br />and legislation is pending tonight; <br />3) De~lerth Subdivision - r~uesting subdivision of a commercial lot -Committee <br />recommended approval and legislation an agenda; <br />„~..;, <br />
