Letter <br />self-explanatory. <br />Mrs. Beringer, Chairman Environattental Control Committee and Loag Range Planning <br />Coeittee reported foilv~-ing: l) Council attended meeting at Airport on February <br />21st. Mr. Katzmar conducted meeting arhich was very informative. He gave Council <br />his views on the runway extension. Mrs. Saringer stated she is not evinced <br />that this expansion is absolutely necessary: it will only increase air traffic. <br />Although North Olmsted is not affected Tike some other communities Mrs, Beringer <br />stated she does not feel Council shou7.d close their eyes to their neighbors. As <br />a Meer of the Areawide Aviat~.on Comsittee and Chairman of Enviro~tntal Control <br />Committee asks support for resolution on third reading tonight. i`he l~:reawide <br />Aviation Committee was set up far the benefit of all con~aunities surrounding <br />Cleveland Hopkins Airport and not 3ust one segment. Does not believe this burden <br />should be placed on one coam~unity zegarding what effects the airport can have upon <br />surrounding comRnunities. Neighboring communities are asking for help; <br />2) re request to County Comuaissioners to be put on agenda for their neat solid <br />waste disposal meeting. Have received letter from Commissioner Taft stating their <br />Engineers are at work designing the transfex station to be located at hest 130th 5 <br />Brookgark and evaluating the various sites for landfill operations. Comead.ssianers <br />will advise when they are ready for another meeting with interested communities. <br />Mr. Goggin, Chairman Streets & Drainage Committee, scheduled a Gommittee Meeting <br />on March 13, 1974, 8:30 P.M., City Hall. <br />Mr. Giesser, Chairman Building, Zoning & Development Committee and Recreation, <br />Public Parks & Building Committee, xeported the B. Z. S D. Committee met and <br />discussed following: 1) Columbia Village Development which is a proposed raised use <br />complex behind Dog, & Suds off Lorain Rd. Committee recommends approval. <br />Mr. Giesser moved that Council approve the prelim3.nary plans of Columbia Village <br />Development, seconded by Mr. West. Affirmative vote: Giesser, Goggin, Lampert, <br />Saringer, Sharpe, West, Wila~aosky. Motion carried. <br />2) Gold Circle request for a fenced in area along eastern part of building for <br />a garden center. Committee recommends approval for an 8 ft. high green vinyl <br />fence with two gates; and also, that there be a chain placed across the fire lane <br />in back of the building. <br />Mr. Giesser moved that Council approve an 8 ft. high green vinyl fence with two <br />gates; also that there be a chain placed across the fire lane in back of Gold <br />Circle Building. Motion seconded by Mr. Gaggin. Affirmative vote: Giesser, <br />Goggin, Saringer, West,.iilamsoky. Negative vote: Lampert, Sharpe. 5 Yeas - <br />Z Nays -Motion carried. <br />3) Land Use Study which has been going on for past year has been held up because <br />of Citizens Advisory Co~.t.ttee's final report. Final reco~meadatice have been <br />sent to Mxs. Hodgins for typing and will have to go back to Lsnd ties Com~.ttee <br />for their final approval. ~italking with Mr. Nagy, Chairman of Citsens Advisory <br />Committee suggested that the Studygo to Planning Commission for discussion of <br />the plan so that it is not bogged down any further. When Citiffien's Coasd.ttee <br />adopts final report - that will be sent to Planning for study and recos+saendations <br />Mr. Nagy concurred. Mr. Giesser requested the Clerk of Gouncil to advise the <br />Planning Commission to start reviewing the Land Use Study sand hold up any recom=- <br />mendation until Citizens Committee presents their final recommendations to the <br />Plan. <br />
