Council Minutes of 3-5-74 -6- " <br />Under Old Business: <br />Mrs. Sharpe thanked Building Cctssioner Lundy for his prompt action regarding <br />the Bea Clean Auto Wash at 25715 Lorain Rd. It has been boarded up and all debris <br />taken away. <br />Mr. Giesler stated a problem at Bea Clean Auto Wash - They are now selling <br />gasoline alone with not having the car wash open and cars are nov ccioing out <br />of the back entrance off onto Bailsq. Mr. Giesler has discussed this With Mr. <br />Gandy and he has issued a citation to close the back gate. Aapefully this <br />problem will be solved. According to Law Director Gareau this is a legitimate <br />use of the property. <br />Mr. West moved that in accordance with Section 1 of Article 10 of the Charter of <br />the City of North Olmsted, that the Clerk of Council certify the Lacs c-f the <br />proposed initiated ordinance, the title which reads An Ordinance authorising <br />the County of Cuyahoga and the Ohio Department of Transportation to improve <br />Stearns Road by widening the euisting pavet to four lanes bet+wasen the south <br />corporation Tine of the City of North Op ted and Lorain Read and by ec~structing <br />a new four lane roadway constituting an extension of Stearns Road betwe~t Lorain <br />Road and the north corporation line of said City, to the Berard of Elections to <br />be submitted to the electors of the City of North Olmsted at a Spacial Election <br />to be held on May 7, 1974. Motion was seconded by Mr. Lampert. Affirmative <br />vote: Giesler, Goggin, Lampert, Beringer, Sharpe, West, WilamoQky. Motion <br />carried. <br />Mrs. Beringer stated that last 3une one of her constituents on West 231 St. <br />had requested the Iot behind him be cut. He seat letter to Service Department <br />who supposedly received pex~aission from the owners to cut it down. This was <br />nevex done. The constituent is calling Mrs. Beringer again. Iie is concerned <br />about the part growing into his yard. The man is in ill health. Mrs. Beringer <br />asked Service Director Caster i¢ this is going to be given consideration first <br />thing this Spring. Service Director requested Mrs. Beringer to call Service <br />Department and give details and it will be taken care of. <br />Mrs. Saringer asked Service Director Caster when trees on 5toneybrook will be <br />planted. Mr. Caster stated he will be able to advise her after Finance Cca~ittee <br />meeting and next appropriation ordinance. Discussion continued about appropsia- <br />tions for planting of trees. Mrs. Saringer would like to attend next Finance <br />Committee meeting. Mz. Wilamosky discussed the $'9110. appropriated for trees <br />as of the first of this year. Mr. Wilamosky questioned if the City is sectioned <br />off and one can view the propped sections of the City that the Service Depart- <br />ment wi13 plant trees at a specific time. Mx. Caster stated he car- show a <br />schedule of replacements and new streets that he anticipates planting. <br />Mr. Wilamosky inquired of Safety Director Carn~an regarding traffic count at <br />Bretton Ridge Subdivision - Christman and Lorain Rd. Safety Director Carnahan <br />said traffic count is still in progress. Detezmination should be roads in a <br />couple of weeks. <br />Undex New Business: <br />Mrs. Saringer read letter received from Mr. Charles Miner stating that he has <br />been appointed to the Area Advisory Council - Council on Nutrition and Aging - <br />formed under the Board of County Commissioners. <br />Mr, Wilamosky stated he talked with Building Commissioner Gandy regarding the <br />abandoned home on Stearns Rd. The home has been condemned and the home will be <br />
