Minutes of Council Meeting of 2-19-74 -2- <br />Mr. Giessen, Chairman Building, Zoning & Development Cossai.ttee and Recreation, <br />Public Parks b Building Conm:3ttee, reported B. Z. & D. Committee met an February <br />13, 1974, and reviewed following: 1) 2~rathon Oil service station sell restaurant <br />and motel complex, request for rezoning. Caasittee asked far recars~endatie~ frost <br />Regional Planning Comaaissian and have received reply. R+ecoss+sndatian ryas that it <br />be rezoned and that it would not at all hurt the industrial park; in fact, it <br />would enhance probably the development of 1t. Come3.ttee approved recossended <br />rezoning sell legislation has been requested; <br />2) Re - Color Tile Store <br />Mr. Giessen moved that Council approve the parking layout of Color Tile Stare, <br />seconded by Mr. Goggin. Affirmative vats: Giessen, Goggin, Linq~ert, Beringer, <br />Sharpe, West, Wilamosky. Motion carried. ' <br />3) Simmons Subdivision - two lots being combined into one. Cosnnittee recommends <br />approval and legislation has been requested; <br />4) Micro Park - parcel of land gained by Riwanis Club for a walk-in park on <br />Butternut Ridge Rd. Legislation for same has heen requested; <br />5) Columbia Village Development - there are a number of grobleme which Committee <br />felt had to be further discussed and recamsended that individual property amens <br />around the development be contacted. Letter was sent out advising of meeting on <br />February 26th requesting them to attend meeting and ~riew projects. This is not <br />required by Code; <br />Recreation, Public Parks & Building Co~amittee, Mx. Giessen advised that a meeting <br />has been scheduled on Saturday, February 23, 1974, 1:00 P.M., City Hall. <br />6) Mr. Giessen scheduled a B. Z. & D. Committee Meeting on February 26, 1974, <br />7:00 P.M., Gity Hall. <br />Mr. Limpert, Chairman Finance Committee, reported Committee met on February <br />11, 1974, with Administration and revieo~ed budget for negotiations with various <br />departments. Another meeting with same people has been scheduled for February <br />25, 1974, 8:00 P.M., City Hall. <br />Mr. Wilamosky, Chairman Intro Governmental Relations & Legislation Committee, <br />reported Committee met on February 1$, 1974. Messrs. Wilasosky, Coggin and <br />Lampert in attendance, and reviasued model property maintenance code as requested <br />by President O'Neill at last Council Meting. There was extensive discussion <br />and pros and cons of such a code. Also discussed offshoots of the maintsna:-ce <br />code and that was stricter enforcement of the chapters or section of the Codified <br />Ordinances regarding weeds, rubbish and trash on vacant lots. It is the concern <br />of this Committee that the proper department take whatever action is necessary <br />and permitted by State Law and City Ordinances to attempt to resolve the situation <br />that exists. Further, should the Department responsible for enfarces-ent feel the <br />present ordiaance is not applicable, the Committee will be happy to meet with <br />the enforcement officers to discuss new legislation to help; <br />Z) also discussed moving of hoses, industrial buildings, com~oercial buildings, <br />etc. within the City. Comm.ttee will continue to revf.ew maintenance calla and <br />report back to Council; <br />3) Clerk of Council Nora Hill reported the validation of si~xatures on Initiative <br />Petition on Stearns Road is completed. There will be no action tonight an the <br />Initiative Petition. There was some discussion at Committee meeting as to the <br />
