Council Minutes of 2-5-74 _2_ <br />2) Commercial pickup in Catty - would like to get an estimate from loses commercial <br />outfits to determine what cost would be for City to hire them to come in and pick <br />up garbage as compared to Citp`s cost; <br />3) Leaf Pickup - Committee will investigate haw surrounding cities operate their <br />leaf pickup and which is most successful. It is Committee's desire that by next <br />Fall to have a successful leaf pickup program. Mention was made of anticipated <br />shortage of plastic bags which are now preferred to bag leaves for pickup; <br />4) Comaittee would like to be a spearhead in dleveloping the In~lustxiai Park to <br />distribute the tax burden and relieve the homeowners` tax load. Will start an <br />active advertising campaign, and probably work with the Chamber of Commerce on <br />this; <br />5) Department of Human Resources - encourage this program to get started so that <br />elderly as well as youth axe taken care of; <br />6) Storm Drainage - City is currently working with Westlake in regard to conditions <br />that exist in the easterly end of City; <br />7) Service Garage is definitely needed; <br />8) Some type of emergency medical service be established; <br />9) City Hall Complex <br />ZO) Completion of 480 and 252 road systems. <br />Mr. Coggin, Chairman Streets & Drainage Committee, scheduled a Streets & <br />Drainage Committee meeting on February 12, 1974, 7:00 P.M., City Hall. <br />Mr. Giesler, Chairman Building, Zoning ~ Development Committee, and Recreation, <br />Public Parks & Building Committee, reported B. Z. & D. Committee met on January <br />24, 1974 and discussed following itet~: 1) Cardinal Federal Savings & Loan Bank <br />and this has been referred back to Board of Zoning Appeals; <br />2) Sandy Ridge Subdivision No. 10 - necessary to approve plat for recording <br />purposes only. Final improvement pleas have been approved. Legislation to approve <br />for record purposes only on agenda; <br />3) Color Tile Store - Committee has held up action pending review; <br />4) Request by Mr. Burch to sell back to the City two graves @ $50. Legislation <br />for same on agenda; <br />5) N~arathon Oil Service Station and Restaurant - request for rezoning from <br />industrial to General Retail. f?eve requested Regional Planning for review and <br />recommendation and this will be reviewed at next B. Z. & D, Committee meeting. <br />6) Request Clerk of Council to write Mr. Nag.~-, Chairman Citizens Advisory <br />Committee asking him if final recommendations are completed; <br />Recreation, Public Parks & Building Committee, Mr. Giesser reported Committee <br />met on January 24, 1974, and reviewed recommendations by the ad hoc committee <br />on Recreation Complex: this was to hire Koster & Associates as the architect <br />for the Complex and was approved. Legislation for same on agenda authorizing <br />Mayor to enter into contract with Koster b Associates; <br />7) Mr. Giesser scheduled a B.Z. &. D. Committee Meeting on February 13, 1974, <br />7:00 P.M., City Hall; <br />8) Mr. Giesser scheduled a Recreation, Public Parks & Building Committee Meeting <br />on February 13, 1974, 8:00 P.M., City Hall. <br />Mr. Limpert, Chairman Finance Committee, reported Finance Committee met several <br />times since last Council Meeting and following item were reviewed and discussed: <br />1) Cavallo property involving a moral claim in connection with a sewer charge. <br />Committee feels it is a 3ust claim and legislation for same is on agenda; <br /> <br />
