w
Council *"3nutes of 3-4-75 -2-
to work out some clarifications. It is Mr. Gateau's understanding this has been
accomplished with respect to information being forwarded to his office~~through
Regional Planning - have not received it yet, but it is anticipated that it will
be received tomorrow. Map is new being worked on and most of the work was put in
rough form a€~d about one third of it has been typed. In the near future will have
this plan out to Council and people far their review.
Mrs. Beringer, Chairman Bnviran~ntal Control Committee and Long Range Planning
Committee, reported Environmental Control Camml.ttee meeting was held on February
25th. Service Director Caster, Public Works Commissioner Weldon and several
other Council people were in atte~tctance bes;tdes Committee members. Committee did
take into consideration incorp+srating into the leg~.slation on refuse collection a
requirement that a yearly contract be signed. However, it was unanimously decided
not to incorporate this.
Mr. Giesser, Chairman Building, Zoning ~ Development Cammi.ttee and Recreation,
Public Parks ~ Buildings Cotm$ittese, reported the B.Z. & D. Committee did not
meet but are having a meeting on March 6, 1975, to discuss items with regard to
Comprehensive Plan with Cauncll as a Whole;
2) Recxeation Committee met on February 20, 1975, and recommended that we advertise
for bids for Recxeation Center equipment which is in legislation farm on agenda
tonight for first reading;
3) reviewed Policy with regard to Recreation Center:
Mr. Giesser moved that Council approve the Policy as set forth in letter from Mr.
tJest in regard to the Recreation Center, seconded by Mr. hest. Affirmative vote:
Giesser, Goggin, Lampert, Saringer, West, Wilamosky. Motion carried.
~+} Committee discussed request with regard to land that was bought for a hospital:
There has been a request that one of the neighbors wants to use a portion of it
for gardening, and it has been left up to the Mayer in the past. Rave had: Central
City u$e some of the land far gardening and reap benefits of the gardening;, el.ao,
last year a Church Group used part of the land far gardening. Con~ittee legit ~t
up to the t~tayor - if the land is not being used certainlq it should be by asses
group and that he should make the choice of who would use the vacant land for
gardening;
5) Mayor has requested that an expenditure of $1,561. be approved for an elevator
shaft for the Recreation Center. Presently they can come in with a derrick and
drill holes so the soft would be there if we ever expand the second floor, If
the building was up and completed it would cost approximately $10,000. to do this.
Are very hopeful that the second floor would be developed in the near future so
the Cottee felt that an expenditure of this sum of money would be very beneficial.
Mr. Giesser requested legislation be prepartrd to approve the expenditure of $1.,561,
for digging elevator shaft.
6) a Recreation Committee meeting is planned for March b, 1975, at 9:00 P.M., City
Hall.
