Council Minutes of 3-4-75 -3- <br />Mr. West, Chairman Transportation Committee, reported following: 1) Committee <br />had two meetings - February 18th and February 24, 1975. Discussed with Bus <br />Drivers Committee proposed salazies atzd agreement reached and ordinance is on <br />agenda tonight for first reading to grs~tt bus drivers 50~ per hour and to <br />continue with fully paid haspitalizati+c~ but bringing it up to the current <br />cost as of March 3, 1975; and salarq adjustment would be effective March 3, 1975 <br />also; <br />2) discussed leasing buses from C.T.8. who have spare buses and have offered a <br />good rate. Aowever, decided in view of the possibility of ra~ceiving our grant <br />from Federal Government on our ~ buses ax~t the possibilities of the operating <br />agreement to hold off renting a~ay buses right at the present time; <br />3) discussed petition received to reiastall the traffic light at Lorain Rd. and <br />Whitethorn. Committee decided Lhap would fallow same procedure as has been <br />followed in regard to other pet#.tiane sad that is that sow of the Cams-ittee <br />Members and the traffic people from Police DepartaEent will make a cau~nt at this <br />intersection to determine far c~rselves the d of a traffic light; and then <br />report back to the people. <br />Letters, Communications: <br />Clerk read letter from Plaunag Coa~ission expressing appreciation for insurance <br />coverage protecting mgrs of Playing Casa~issian as well as all other Board <br />and Commission members against personal liability for acts or omissions by any <br />individual on a Board or Coaa-issian while aetiag under color of authority. <br />People addressing Council: <br />Mr. Bob Bechtel, 4538 Rew Drive, addressed Council pertaining to need for gun <br />control; status of Broakpark relocation; specific piece of legislation that was <br />passed on emergency. Sub;ects were discussed at length. <br />Mr. Senxw Wilms, 6140 Columbia Rd., addressed Council on subject of gun control. <br />Mr. Richard Spaeth, Tudor Drive, addressed Council pertaining to gun control; <br />legislation authorizing bids for equipment for Rec Center. <br />Mr. Clifford Crabbs, 25575 Butternut Ridge Rd., addressed Council at length <br />on subject of gun control quoting statistics and other data pertinent to subject. <br />Mr. Crabbs was invited to attend Safety Committee Meeting to be scheduled to <br />discuss legislation on gun control, and to bring data to meeting. Mr. Crabbs <br />also commented on burglarizing of four out of five homes on Columbia Ad. in the <br />Last pear - three within lit two weeks. <br />Donna Gosciewski, 25417 Butternut Ridge Rd., addressed Council requesting more <br />surveillance. <br />Mr. Terry Zeager, 3344 West 231 Stxeet, addressed Council pertainin$ to seating <br />at Sportsman Club on March 12th, $:00 P.M., with Council as a Whole, pertaining <br />to gun control and invited pimple ~.n audience speaking on gun control to attend. <br />Mr. Art Wilms, 6120 Columbia Rd., addressed Council pertaining to ordinance an <br />gun control. <br /> <br />
