No. 74-129 oa agenda tonight: Mrs. Saringer feels the rate
payer o£ Ohio cannot be sub,)ected to the untrsasonable demand that Ohio Bell
is seeking after having received a 98 million dollar increase about 1 i/2 gears
ago. Understands that Ohia Bell estplogees have an obligation to their employer
jusC as Mrs. Saringer has an obligation to her constituents. Feels the elderly
are not the only ones to suffer from this setts burden and exp~entae. The average
wage earner is increasingly being rava~d bq inflation, which is compounded by
increase in utility rates. Feels our citi~ns and all citit~nts under the Ohio
Bell Sgstem have a xight to strongly object to this increase: Ohio Bell has a
right to a reasonable rate of return an its investment; but also an absolute
obligation to operate without unfounded de+~ands for contint~a~l increases. This
resolution abjectiasg to ttie increase will be forwarded to the P.U.C.4. Mxs.
Saringer further stated it is tip Ohio Be11 fo:.iawed its aan advertising theme
"let your fingsrs do the walicintg" by thua~ing through the nearest dictionary and
learning the are~ing of sou~td money management.
