Dave been informed by the attorney on that case that they have reached a settlement and that case will be dismissed. Safety Director Casnahan reported: 1) have received a coamwnication from Northam Ohio Lung Associatioa in which included a copy of S.B. 96 that requires a non- smoking area to be designated is all places of public sssembly excaedisg 50 or core parsons. These areas must be dssig~uted before January 1, 1977. Will send copies of this Act to Council Members. Mrs. Beringer, Chairman Str~sets S Drainage Committee, reported:l) Coe~ttee meeting was held November 15, 176 and is attetdaaca were Mrs. Beringer, Mr. 8oahmar, Mr. Weldon end Mr. Caster. 1'he first its discussed was the turning lssa at Clagua & Lorain. In the event we do not receive a fa+worable answr from the Cotmty B~gineer with respect to the co~nunication we have had with thaw, 1~lrs. Beringer has asked for Engineer`s opinion on a temporary surfacing of the berm at Clegue ~ Loraia so that traffic can turn right oa red a little more easily and try to alleviate same of the traffic congestion; 2) Committee reviewed letter from Mayor Christman in regaxd to a request for a consent osdinance from our County E:rginaer for thfi .improving of Stearns Rd. between the southerly limit of 1480 and the North Olsste;i t~anicipal boundary, and it was the Committee's opinion mot to request legislatio~a for a consent ord#aaitce; 3) Committee discussed briefly street resurfacieg for next year. List includes about 16 streets at a cost of apprcndmstaly $173,000. Committee hopes to request $50,000 and further recommiandatons will be coafng from Committee. In absence of Mr. Goggin, Chairman Recreation, Public Parka & Buildings Committee, Mr. West gave following report: Recreation Coasi.ttee mat ~olntly with the Finance Committee aad reviewed the Recreatiaa Center's first ten myths actuals and pro- jections for the ls.st two months of 1976 to get a total for the year 1976. It appears that for tre year 1976 we would hsva a def:.c~t of $37,000 the way the accounting is doe', but in ordinary accounting, s~ ~:?~:e accountants advise, the $40,000 which is in stock in the Pro Shop is considered case oc head mod, therefore, this would offset any deficit. Mr. West stated there are several things that ned to be ramsabarsd: the toboggan elide was not in operation and this was anticipated to take in approxiaately $33,000 for 1976. It is projection of Kr. West that it will take in $6,000 to $7,000. Also, the Roc Canter did not open until the middle of November in 1975 whereas the projection made by the e~aperts origiaally had anticipated the start up in the middle of 1975 and by the tier w! m~-y of the paogle who would have uses tbesa facilities had ca-aittad thesselvu elsewhere for the Winter Season. This year is diffarrent sad he would e~cpect that we are going to be showing a profit that was projected for the so-called bass year which in this particular case will be 1977.
