Council Minutes of 1i7-19-76 ~2- Mrs. Sharpe, Chairman Building, Zoning & Development Committee reported B.Z.&D. Committee met on October 6th and October 13th, 1976. At October 6th meeting the following was discussed: 1) parking and layout of a small commercial building at 29328 Lorain Rd. and Committee appxoved same. Mrs. Sharpe moved for approval of the parking and layout of building located at 29328 Lorain Rd., seconded by Mr. Gog,in. Affirmative vote: Beaty, Boehmer, Goggin, Beringer, Sharpe, West, Wilamosky. Motion carried. 2) remodeling of curb stop and installation of food pickup drive at Burger King Restaurant located at 26270 Lorain Rd., and Comcittee had no objections. Mrs. Sharpe moved for approval of the remodeling of curb stop and installation of food pick up drive at Burger King Restaurant, 26270 Lorain Rct., second®d by Mr. Beaty. Affirmative vote: Beaty, Boehmer, Goggin, Saringer, Sharpe, West, Wilamosky. Motion carried. 3) Committee discussed and has no objections to the Friends Church Subdivision and Res. No. 76146 is on second reading tonight; 4) Committee discussed and has no objection to the Robert Kovach Subdivision and Res. No. T6-148 is on second reading tonight; 5) Committee discussed and has no objection to the Barton Bxadley Subdivision and will be requesting suspension of rule on Res. No. 76-147 tonight; 6) Committee talked with Mrs. Stella Stark and her builder regarding a request for a 19 ft. side yard variance for a corner lot at southwest corner of Christman and Lorain Rd. This special permit has been approved by the Board of Zoning Appeals. Mrs. Sharpe moved for approval of special permit to Mrs. Stella Stark, seconded by Mr. Beaty.. Affirmative vote: Beaty, Boehmer, Goggin, Saringer, Sharpe, West,. Wilamosky. Motion carried. At October 13th meeting Committee met with City Planner, Mr. Bob Hill, of Dalton, D:a3,ton, Little & Newport. Also in attendance was City Planner Mr. Bob Williams of Hoag & W3.smar, Inc. As this was Committee's initial meting with a city planner no decision was reached regarding the hiring of one. Mr. Hill is a very qualified planner and landscape architect and is employed by the City of Strongsville as their Planner. Committee discussed the various works and duties of a city planner; also approximate salary that would be required. Committee will be discussing this aspect further in future BZD Committee meetings and also with the Finance Committee before any final decision will be made regarding the hiring or the need of a city planner. 2) have scheduled a B.Z.&D. Committee Meeting on October 20, 1976, 7:30 P.M., City Hall, strictly for building and engineering plans. President Limpert referred request of Mayor Christman regarding the City owned strip of land referred to in his report into B. Z. & D. Committee. People addressing Council: Mrs. Gladys Zipp, 29658 Lorain Rd., addressed Council with respect to the expiration dates of the warranties on the Recreation Center Complex. Discussion ensued.
