Council Minutes of 1i7-19-76 ~2- <br />Mrs. Sharpe, Chairman Building, Zoning & Development Committee reported B.Z.&D. <br />Committee met on October 6th and October 13th, 1976. At October 6th meeting <br />the following was discussed: 1) parking and layout of a small commercial building <br />at 29328 Lorain Rd. and Committee appxoved same. <br />Mrs. Sharpe moved for approval of the parking and layout of building located at <br />29328 Lorain Rd., seconded by Mr. Gog,in. Affirmative vote: Beaty, Boehmer, <br />Goggin, Beringer, Sharpe, West, Wilamosky. Motion carried. <br />2) remodeling of curb stop and installation of food pickup drive at Burger King <br />Restaurant located at 26270 Lorain Rd., and Comcittee had no objections. <br />Mrs. Sharpe moved for approval of the remodeling of curb stop and installation of <br />food pick up drive at Burger King Restaurant, 26270 Lorain Rct., second®d by Mr. <br />Beaty. Affirmative vote: Beaty, Boehmer, Goggin, Saringer, Sharpe, West, Wilamosky. <br />Motion carried. <br />3) Committee discussed and has no objections to the Friends Church Subdivision <br />and Res. No. 76146 is on second reading tonight; <br />4) Committee discussed and has no objection to the Robert Kovach Subdivision and <br />Res. No. T6-148 is on second reading tonight; <br />5) Committee discussed and has no objection to the Barton Bxadley Subdivision and <br />will be requesting suspension of rule on Res. No. 76-147 tonight; <br />6) Committee talked with Mrs. Stella Stark and her builder regarding a request <br />for a 19 ft. side yard variance for a corner lot at southwest corner of Christman <br />and Lorain Rd. This special permit has been approved by the Board of Zoning <br />Appeals. <br />Mrs. Sharpe moved for approval of special permit to Mrs. Stella Stark, seconded <br />by Mr. Beaty.. Affirmative vote: Beaty, Boehmer, Goggin, Saringer, Sharpe, West,. <br />Wilamosky. Motion carried. <br />At October 13th meeting Committee met with City Planner, Mr. Bob Hill, of Dalton, <br />D:a3,ton, Little & Newport. Also in attendance was City Planner Mr. Bob Williams <br />of Hoag & W3.smar, Inc. As this was Committee's initial meting with a city <br />planner no decision was reached regarding the hiring of one. Mr. Hill is a very <br />qualified planner and landscape architect and is employed by the City of Strongsville <br />as their Planner. Committee discussed the various works and duties of a city planner; <br />also approximate salary that would be required. Committee will be discussing this <br />aspect further in future BZD Committee meetings and also with the Finance Committee <br />before any final decision will be made regarding the hiring or the need of a city <br />planner. <br />2) have scheduled a B.Z.&D. Committee Meeting on October 20, 1976, 7:30 P.M., <br />City Hall, strictly for building and engineering plans. <br />President Limpert referred request of Mayor Christman regarding the City owned <br />strip of land referred to in his report into B. Z. & D. Committee. <br />People addressing Council: <br />Mrs. Gladys Zipp, 29658 Lorain Rd., addressed Council with respect to the <br />expiration dates of the warranties on the Recreation Center Complex. Discussion <br />ensued. <br /> <br />
