~ Council Minutes of 9-21-76 -7- <br />Ordinance No. 76-141 was introduced by Mr. Wilamosky and given its first reading. <br />An Ordinance amending the Traffic Control Map and File of the City of North Opted <br />to provide for the installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of <br />Decker and Lorain Rds. President Lampert referred same into Transportation Committee. <br />Ordinance No. 76-142 was introduced by Mr. Beaty and given its first reading. <br />An Ordinance establishing c tion to be paid to the Bus Drivers of the <br />North Olmsted Municipal Bus Line and ra~erling Ord. No. 76-94 enacted June 15, <br />1976, and declaring an emergency. Mier. Beringer asked if this should be passed <br />on emergency and stated reasons therefor. Mr. Beaty explained there are a few <br />items that have to be clarified, etc. <br />Ordinance No. 76-143 was introduced by Mr. Beaty and given its first reading. <br />An Ordinance establishing compensation to be paid to the administrative and <br />maintenance employees of the North 0].msteed Municipal Bus Line, repealing <br />Ord. No. 76-93 enacted on June 15, 1976, as amended, and declaring an emergency. <br />Under Old Business: <br />Mrs.. Saringer referred to legislation she had introduced regarding a stop sign <br />at Brendan and Cedarwood which was referred to Committee last meeting. Mr. Beaty <br />stated the Safety Department was requested to give Committee a report and <br />suggestions. The report has now been received and same will be discussed at next <br />Committee meeting. <br />Mrs. Saringer referred to complaint regarding trailer trucks being parked at <br />Ludwig's propertq on Lorain Rd. The Safety Director was requested to check <br />into this and Mrs. Saringer stated the trucks are still parking there. Lengthy <br />discussion ensued between Mrs. Saringer, Law Director Garesu and Safety Director <br />Carnahan. Mrs. Saringer and Safety Director Carnahan will meet at location where <br />trucks are parking, and continue working on this problem. <br />Mr. Wilamosky discussed with Law Director Gaxeau the agreement with the County <br />for signalization of Lorain Rd. - this in reference to his request for a traffic <br />signal at Decker & Lorain Rds. Mr. Wilamosky stated he would like to know for <br />his own enlightenment as well as helping the Transportation Committee to come to <br />a decision on Ord. No. 76-141, if we as a municipality is lieu of the cooperation <br />agreement with the County for signalization, can install a traffic signal along <br />various intersections within out City. Law Director Gaxeau referred to his <br />research with respect to the placement of traffic signals by M & R Bakery, and <br />he came to a conclusion at that time that we could; but Law Director Garesu will <br />issue a legal opinion on same. Mr. Wiiamosky and the Mayor discussed same. <br />Mr. Goggin asked if there has been a report on the Relen Brown Subdivision which <br />is being held up for reloaking at the exiting and entrance onto their current <br />subdivision. Safety Director Carnahan stated he received the print todaq and <br />has not had a chance to give any study. <br />President Lampert asked Mr. Zoldesy about the count he has been making on Barton <br />Rd. per request for busing. Mr. Zoldesy explained they are still taking counts; <br />and will give Mr. Wilamosky the count so far after meeting. <br />Mr. West moved for adjournment, seconded by Mrs. Sharpe. Affirmative vote: Beaty, <br />Boehmer, Goggin, Saringer, Sharpe, West, Wilamosky.
