Council Minutes of 9-7-76 <br />-10- <br />Under Old Business: <br />Mr. West asked Mr. Beaty what ha~-pensd to the ordinance for the bus drivers' <br />increase that had been requested. Mr. Beaty e~lansd the circue~stances which <br />caused the delay and sass will be ready for neat Council Meeting. <br />Mr. Wilamoskp referred to coorents by Mrr. Saringer regarding legislation which <br />she requested. Mr. Wilasasky hated ISrs. i~aringer discussed frith him that she <br />was going to request legislation to resurface a street and Mr. Wilaaasky talked <br />to Mr. Weldon and requested specific ixtfcrmetion as to costs and he did obtain <br />that information and retained it in anticipation of receiving the ordinance. <br />The Finance Committee is prepared to review the legislation end e a recomssndation <br />upon receipt of legislation. W+as uneber the impression that la~i:slation was <br />being prepared and ~a waiting for such legislation until Cosisittee took any <br />affirmative action or made any racossseeu~ation. Law Director Gsretu meted he <br />received a request, however, was told east knows from his own kna~d3edgs that there <br />were not sufficient funds appropriated for this specific street prsjsct. It was <br />his recommendation that in an appropriatie~n ordinance indicate what aso~t is to <br />be appropriated and specifically des~ueted for that street. So cons~wntly he <br />thought this is the route it was going to take. It is superfluous to pass <br />legislation with respect to hating the Administration resurface a attest when <br />there is not sufficient funds. Thdmks the project should be revieMed and then <br />direct funds be appropriated - ha can do it the other way but it just does not <br />make a lot of sense. Mr. Wilasosky stated the Finance Ccmwmittse will review <br />the request and make a rec ion. ~cussion continued betassn Inc. Wilaaasky <br />and Mr. Caster. Mr. Beaty asked what the casparisran was as to the else of <br />north-south &attnedy Ridge as caMpared to Clifford Drive. Mr. Wila~osky estimated <br />a variance in the area of $2,.040 to $3,400. Mr. Canter feels the variance was <br />more. President Liaapert stated there is no nod for further discussion as it is <br />going into Finance Committee and they will have figures for Members of Council. <br />Mr. GTest asked Mx. Caster latest status of new buses. Mr. Caster said it is still <br />around September 12th. Mr. fist asked there he is going to put the new buses as <br />our space is pretty well used up. Mr. Caster stated this is a problem. <br />Mrs. Saringer referred to a letter sent to Mrs. Ludwig, Lorain Rd., regarding <br />tractor trailer trucks being parked and parking in a parking lot need they have <br />been advised to cease and to this date they are still parking. The violation <br />notice was given 14 days ago and Mrs. Saringer requested Safety Director Carnahan <br />to check into this. President Limpert referred same to Safety Director. <br />Under New Business: <br />Mrs. Saringer stated she has received a request for s traffic light at 6sssner Rd. <br />& Lorain Rd., since right turn on red is legal people are finding it difficult <br />to get out on Lorain Rd. Mrs.. Saringer also has received a request for a "No <br />Trucks" sign on Lessner Rd. F~ple have observed semi trucks hsnlg steel <br />traveling on Lessner Rd. President Lampert referred the two requests into <br />Transportation Committee. <br />Mrs. Saringer requested Service Director Caster for a list of all the replacement <br />trees and also a list of all trees that will be replaced with this new <br />appropriation. Discussion ensueed. <br />Mr. Coggin asked if the tree list Mrs. Saringer referred to will also include <br />new trees that have yet to be planted. Mr. Caster said no - just replacesent list. <br />. ~~~~ <br />
