Minutes of Council Meeting 9-7-,~ _2_ <br />retention basin system. Prom all of the data gathered so far, Mr. Childs is <br />very doubtful that storm water retention basin would prove to be a viable solution <br />but wants to look at it further. Mr. West referred to possibility of building a <br />parallel ditch that would double the capacity of water takeroff. Mr. Childs said <br />a parallel ditch approach looks good lit that would still entail Westlake improving <br />the sire of their ditch too. <br />Safety Director Carnahan reported the rink is now back in operation - the <br />compressors have been repaired. <br />Mrs. Saringer, Chairman Streets & Drainage Coaa~ittee, requested each Ward <br />Councilman submit to her a list of streets in their ward tit have to be <br />resurfaced in order for Committee to discuss same. When it comes time for <br />appropriations Committee can take this under consideration so that next pear <br />we will be prepared and will know just what repairs will be needed, manpower, <br />etc. <br />Mr. Coggin, Chairman Recreation, Public Parks & Buildings Committee, scheduled <br />a Recreation Committee meeting on September 20, 1976, 8:00 P.M., City Hall. <br />Mr. Boehmer, Chairman Intra Governmental Relations & Legislation Committee and <br />Public Safety, Health & Welfare Committee, reported Safety Co~rmi.ttee met and <br />discussed an application for a D-1 and D-2 liquor permit for Ski Lanes, Inc., <br />26025 Great Northern Shopping Center. Committee objects to this application <br />and is requesting a hearing as there is no such building on the property; <br />2) requested legislation to advertise for bids for five new police cars - 4 patrol <br />cars and 1 Detective car; and it is planned to trade in five cars with 50,000 to <br />90,000 miles on same. 1~0 of the cars are red-lined right now and he doubts if <br />these could be put back on the road because there is too much repair needed on same; <br />3) in receipt of request for street lighting on Willet Circle. At the present <br />time street lighting will not be put up in the City because there is no money. <br />Mr. Boehmer has previously requested the Mayor to consider putting in his budget <br />for next year at least 50 street lights; <br />4) Mr. Boehmer commended our Police Departu:c-~t for their excellent work. <br />Mr. Wilamosky asked Safety Director Carnahan if it is necessary to trade or sell <br />those cars off with 50,000 miles - referriag to the police cars. Safety Director <br />Carnahan explained the major repairs needed on two of the cars; and the car with <br />50,000 miles is one that is alI rusted out. <br />In the absence of Mrs. Sharpe, Chairman Building, Zoning & Developmrtnt Comsittee, <br />Mr. Beaty gave following report of Mrs. Sharpe: 1) the B. Z. b D. Coeyeittee met <br />on August 25, 1976, also in attend~ence were Building Commissioner Gundy, Asst. <br />Engineer McDermott, City F~egineer Childs. Following items were discussed: <br />1) Res. No. 76-119 on second reading tonight for recording purposes only the <br />J. W. Stemitz Subdivision and Committee has no objections; <br />2)Res. No. 76-120 on second reading tonight for record purposes only the Al Sanders <br />Subdivision and Committee has no objections. <br />3) Res.. No. 76-121 on second reading tonight fox recording purposes only the <br />Johnson Doolittle Subdivision and Committee has no objections; <br />4) Res. No. 76-I22 on second reading tonight for recording pulses only the <br />Olmsted Skate Center Subdivision and Committee has no objections; <br />5) REs. No. 76-123 on second reading tonight for recording purposes only the <br />City of North Olmsted and Board of Education Spruce School Site Subdivision. <br />
