Council Minutes of 8-17-•75 -- -2- <br />Air. Coggin, Chairman Re+czds,tion, Public Parks 6 Buildings Committee, reported <br />Committee met with the Carrier~4~ Conditioning and Shaker Elsctrical people to <br />discuss the refrigeration problem at--~ Becreation Canter as it slates to the <br />ice rink portion. A comeLe~tser developed a leak. is the aTstem semi allowed water <br />to flow throughout and the water is in the process of being pumped out. It is <br />just about finished and the people feel that in order to be sure that it is <br />totally without any moisture wlu~tsoever it will probably take another two days. <br />The Comeoi.ttee will stay on top of this, and the Carrier and ffihaker people have <br />assured us that this problem will not reoccur - it was a fluke type break - <br />but the Committee will stay oa top of this and Mr. Coggin `rill be at the Rec <br />Center on a dally basis to be sure this is functioning properly. <br />Mr. Beaty, Chairman Transportation Committee, reported Com®ittee mat August <br />14, 1976. Air. Est and Airs. Sharpe sere at the meeting - Atr. Beaty was out <br />of town. Under discussion was RTA has passed a raise for the drivers of RTA <br />and the Committee recommends keeping our drivers at the same rate as the rest <br />of the RTA drivers; <br />2) scheduled a Transportation Committee Meeting on August 23, 1976, 8:00 P.M., <br />City 8x11, with the Drivers Committee to discuss longevity and other points <br />with the drivers; <br />3) would like to request legislation be drawn for the equalization of the rates <br />and Mr. Beaty will get inform$tion to Law Director. <br />Air. Boehmer, Chairman Intro Governmental R~tlations & Legislation Committee and <br />Public Safety, Health & Welfare Committee, scheduled a Legislation Committee <br />meeting on Wednesday, September 1, 1976, 7:30 P.M., City Hall, and requested <br />Mr. Copeland to be in attendance; <br />2) the Illuminating Company has finished installing the lights on Brookpark <br />Extension and Sparky Lane and Mr. Weldon and Mr. Boehmer inspected same last <br />night and same is well lighted. <br />In absence of Air. Wilamosky, Chairman Finance Committee, Mrs. Sharpe read <br />following report of Mr. Wilamosky: Finance Committee met oa August 14, 1976, <br />and reviewed and discussed following items: 1) request for additional appropriations <br />for tree planting. Committee recommends that an additional $1,0~. be appropriated. <br />Legislation is being requested; <br />2)request of Service Director for additional appropriations to the Bus Line Fund. <br />The total amount requested is $13,000. It was requested that $3,040. be <br />appropriated to the Garage Expense line item sad $10,040. to the Repair and <br />Maintenance line item. The Transportation Committee was also present awl have <br />no objectloa. It is recommended that the appropriation be made asui legislation <br />is being requested; <br />3) Service Director Caster has requested additional appropriation in the amount <br />of $50,000. to purchase chemicals for the Treatment Plant. A transfer of <br />$37,000. was also requested within this fund. This amount was requested far <br />plant and vehicle maintenance. The Finance Committee recommends that terse <br />requests be reviewed and discussed by the Environmental Control Committee; <br />4) Committee recommends that $400. be transferred from Eaginaering Department <br />line item Equipment Purchase to Engineering Department line item Equipment Repair. <br />This line item is running iow of fonds and legislation is requested; <br />5) Committee also recommends legislation to advertise for bids for a new vehicle <br />for the Bagineering Dept. The m~aney has already been appropriated snd legislation <br />is requested; <br />
