Council Minutes of 8-17-76 _3_ <br />6) Committee recommends $6,200. be appropriated to the Service Departaerut <br />line item Hydrant Repair. The Coa^iittam requRSts that the Fnau-ce Director <br />provide Committee w~,th a total breakch„rn for this line item, listing insurance <br />recovery for damaged hydrants. Will the Clerk please advice the Finance <br />Director of this request; <br />7) Committee recommends the transfer of $500. Eros: the Fire D~artment line item <br />Schooling to the Fire Department line item Organization and Travel and legislation <br />is requested; <br />8) Committee recommends that the money which the City received from the sale of <br />used equipment which mss suthotsed by mod. No. 76-45 be appropriated to the <br />Service Department line item ilq~tlpmsnt Purchase. The amount received from this <br />sale is $2,710.50. Legislation is guested; <br />9) Committee recommectda legislation to advertise for bids for 3500 tons of <br />salt and 2000 tons of cinders, amd legislation is requested; <br />10) the Building Commissioner has requested a transfer of funds from his Depart- <br />ment's already appropriated money. He has asked that $500. be transferred from <br />Building Department Clerical, - $600. from Svtpplies, - $400. - Miscellaneous, - <br />$1,400. - B~giaeering Wages, - $500. - Microfilm, - a total of $3,400. to <br />the Building Department line item Architectural Consultant. The Building <br />Commissioner explained that flue transfer is necessary due to the building activity <br />at the Great Northern Mall. Committee has no objections and legislation is <br />regussted; <br />11) the Committee met with Mr. Broader and discussed various appropriations <br />which have been made for the Rec Codex Fund. Mr. Broader advised Committee <br />he is presently prepatitig a balance of appropriation sheet showing receipts <br />from all revenue sources within the Ccamplex. It will also contain the value <br />(our cost) of on-hand inventory of the Pro Shop. lhcpenditures will also be <br />listed. The Finance Committee has recommended to Mr. Broader that he provide <br />all Meyers of Council with this upcoming report and all future financial <br />reports. <br />Mrs. Sharpe, Chairman Building, Zoning & Development Committee, reported <br />Committee met before Council Meeting this evening and discussed letter from <br />Virginia Hodgins, Recording Secretary to Board of Zoning Appeals, regarding <br />two special permits, and Committee has no objections. <br />Mrs. Sharpe moved to approve the Special Permit granted to Mr. Stanley Katcher, <br />5616 Whitehaven Drive, seceded by Mr. Goggin. Affirmative vote: Beaty, Hochman, <br />Goggin, Saringer, Sharpe, West. Lotion carried. <br />Mrs. Sharpe moved to approve tare Special Permit granted to Mr. George Durkin, <br />seconded by Mr. Goggin. Affirmattive vote: Beaty, Hochman, Goggin, Saringer, <br />Sharpe, West. Motion carried. <br />2) Committee discussed the Laurel Woods entrance sign at Marcie Lane near Dover <br />Center Rd. <br />Mrs. Sharpe moved to approve the entrance sign for Laurel Woods at Marcie Lane <br />and Dover Center Road, seconded by Mr. Goggin. Affirmative vote: Beaty, Boehmsr, <br />Goggin, Saringer, Sharpe, West. Motion carried. <br />3) scheduled a B. Z. & D. Committee Meeting on August 25, 1976, 7:15 P.M., City Mall. <br />Mrs. Saringer asked Service Director Canter if the additional appropriation for <br />tree planting will take care of all the trees that are on the list now. Mr. Caster <br />said that will take care of most of the replacement trees. <br />~~, <br />
