Affirmative vote: Beaty, Bosluser, Coggin, <br />Saringer, Sharpe, West. Motion carried. <br />6) regarding request that Committee look into the traffic flow of small shopping <br />center immediately west of the Sohio Station in area of Great Ibrthern Blvd. and <br />Lorain Rd. Safety Director Cax~ahan is going to be talkie; with the owner and <br />see what can be done about the entrance and exit signs at that location; <br />7) Committee also discussed a traffic control signal at Walter Rd. & Lorain Rd. <br />There was a traffic control study done early this year or latter part of last <br />year and Committee received copy of this aeraly:is; also received letter from <br />the Police Dept. with recotmeendetiona and the amount of traffic and the delay <br />at this time according to the Police Dept. does not warrant a traffic signal. <br />They felt at a later date when the approach was possibly widened to three lanes <br />with a turning lane, that it might warrant it at that time. The Police Dept. <br />at this time did not feat it was necessary and it was the consensus of the <br />Committee that it was not aeceasary so no action was taken. <br />Mrs. Saringer stated she has received a call regarding buses parking behind <br />the Shopping Center - Sears - sad Mr. Beaty will check into this. <br />Mr. Boehmer, Chairman Intra Governmental Relations & Legislation Committee <br />and Public Safety, Health b Welfare Cearmittee, reported Safety Committee <br />discussed street lighting on Brookpark Bxtension and Sparky Lane. Mr. Sparky <br />DiBenedetto will pay Clev+siaaed Rlectric Illuminating Co. for ten poles sad lights <br />to be installed on Brookpark Bxtsnsioa and Sparky Lane for a period of one and <br />one-half pears; then the City will take over the payments. Thin location is in <br />dire need of street lighting sad this is ~-y Committee agreed to it; <br />2) Thanked Chief Bement for arranging new rescue squads to be shower to Council <br />this evening - Fairvisw'8 and a demonstrator from Horton Co. is Coluarbua sad <br />hopefully this will be the new look in North Olmsted in the near future; <br />3) Finance Committee approved approved two squads and one pumper. <br />Mrs. Sherpa gave Finance Committee report in absence of Mr. Wilamoaky, Chairman <br />Finance Committee: Fiaaeace Committee met on May 6, 1976 and reviewed and <br />discussed following: 1) Beviawsd Ord. No. 76-40 and recommends adoption of <br />ordinance which provides for transfer of funds to cover City's portion of <br />increase in cost for hospitalisation coverage. It also provides far transfer <br />of funds to be used for special services at the Rec Complex. Special services <br />consists of the organist, professional instructors at the Rec Center. The money <br />or fees which the professional instructor generates must be reappropriated and <br />this is what this section of the ordinance does; <br />2) Ord. No. 76-42 which provides for advertising for bids for liability insurance <br />for Police Force and Committee rsco~wsnds adoption of Ord. No. 76-42; <br />3) Committee was advised by Chairman of 8.2.&D. Committee that B.Z.B~D. Committee <br />reviewed Ord. Nos. 76-49 sad 75-50 and intends to report out to Council. <br />.. ~-~.
