Council Minutes of S-4-76 <br />w~- <br />President Pro Tem Saringer naked Service Director Castez what decision was made <br />with respect to the Angela Ditch. Service Director Caster discussed sass and <br />affirsied that the City of North Opted will clean it out - it is just a setter <br />of putting this on a priority list. <br />Under Mew Business: <br />Mr. G+oggin brought up two itess: 1) signs directing traffic out of Great Noxthern <br />Shopping Center and places~t of same. Safety Director Carnahan disused subject <br />and will see if something ca~a be done. <br />2) traffic savesent on coreuer of Great Northern Blvd. and Lorain ~d« explained <br />situation with respect to traffic flow in and out of the sunken shc-iasg playa <br />locatedl~st of the Sohio Station. 1fiC. Coggin requested the City restrict the <br />western opening to an entra~ace and restrict the eastern opening to sadt - right <br />turn only. President Pro Tea- SarinEsr requested Safety Director Carson to <br />work with l~r. Beaty, Chairsaa Transportation Comsittee, on this raqu~rt;seed <br />referred same into Transportation Cassittee. Att. Beaty discussed checking the <br />original plan. <br />Mr. Boehser requested Transportation Cosmittee to look into a traffic light at <br />Brookpark Extension and Dover Cssster Rd. because of accidet-ts at that location. <br />President Pro Tem Beringer refert+rd same into Transportation Comsittee. <br />Mr. Wi~.amosky asked Safety Director if he has received any official coaoent <br />from Columbus for passibility of receiving a grant. Mr. Carnahan stated a letter <br />from Colu^bus is on the waq. Mr. Wilasosky requested Mr. Carnahan to advs.:e <br />Council when he receives the latter. <br />Mr. Wilamosky discussed the traffic flow in the Shopping Center - ~3pecially the <br />east end of the area in and around the Pick & Pay and May Co. Stores where there <br />appears to be an insufficient amount of traffic control devices. Discussion <br />continued with Air. Wilamosky and Law Director Garesu regarding authority of City <br />to revise, maintain and require various signs be placed is the Center. Law Director <br />Gateau stated under existing ordinances the City would not have authority unless <br />there were revised plans or a request by the Shopping Center with respect to <br />additional buildings and explained reasons therefor. Law Director .Gateau feels <br />this is something that the City can get together with people from the Shopping <br />Center and explain so as to try and alleviate sose of the problems. After <br />considerable discussion President Pro Tem 5aringer referred same to Air. Beaty, <br />Chairman Transportation Committee, for study. <br />Mr. West referred to request of Safety Director for $600. for ~-..~.nar at <br />Louisville; explained subject of the seminar and it should be discussed in <br />Pinnace Committee. Mr. Wilamosky requested specific information from Safety <br />Director Carnahan. Safety Director Carnahan will furnish Finance Committee <br />with more information. <br />Mr. West moved to excuse absence of President Lampert, seconded by Mr. Coggin. <br />Affirmative vote: Beaty, Boehmer, Coggin, Saringer, Sharpe, West, Wilaswsky. <br />Motion carried. <br />Air. West moved for adjournsent, seconded by Mr. Wilamasky. Affirmative vote: Beaty, <br />Boehmer, Coggin, Sariager, Sharpe, West, Wilamosky.
