Council Minutes of 4-20-76 -2- <br />Service Director Caster gave comaants on investigating the possibility of <br />covering some of the tanks with doses; stating the doses thesselves are not <br />the answer and explained why. Service Director Caster stated the cost of all <br />of this will have to be borne sosewbere and unless the City is in a position <br />that they want to subsidize this additis~sl eap~diture at the Treatssnt Plant <br />out of General Funds - the only other recourse is to eonaider raising the rates <br />for treatsent to cover these additional costs, and this is under consideration. <br />Mr, Wilaewsky asked Service Director Caster if he is reccsewending that we <br />increase the sewer charge to provide for funds to place these dcsass. Discussion ended. <br />City Engineer Childs reported: 1) referred to legislation which is on third <br />reading to install a fence around three sides of the Res Center and stated <br />the Engineering Dept. surveyed the site and installed property line stakes <br />so that prospective bidders can see exactly where the fence will go and hopefully <br />get better bids that way; <br />2) there is a full scale map on the wall in the front office of the Bnginearing <br />Departoent Building that has on it in tad pencil all of the corrections and <br />zoning changes that have coax sheaf sad the fiasl red pencil corrections will <br />be made on that sap tomorrow ewrg. Then a duplicate and corrected copy will <br />go to Regional Planning eo they c~ start putting those changes onto the original <br />map. Mr. Childs has been told they can send back the corrected map a week after <br />that. <br />Safety Director Carnahan reported they are still working on Brookpark &1. upgrading <br />of traffic signals and discussed same. <br />Mr. Coggin asked Safety Director Carnahan when to expect a financial report from <br />the Rec Center. Safety Director Carnahan stated he was prosieed it would be done <br />this week. <br />Mr. Beaty discussed with Safety Director Carnahan the sequence on the lights at <br />Butternut Ridge and Porter Rds. Safety Director Carnahan stated they are still <br />looking at it and have not given up. <br />Mrs. Beringer, Chairman Streets ~ Drainage Committee reported: 1) Coasittee meeting <br />was held April 19, 1976. Council as a tihole with the exception of Mr. West, who <br />was absent, was polled in regard to their opinion on the berm and roadside ditch <br />work and road resurfacing program. Everyone except Mrs. Sharpe and Mrs. Ss.:inger <br />was in agreement with assessing the hoaeawaers for replacesent of driveway culvert <br />and concrete or asphalt aprons if need be. Approximate cost would be between <br />$24. to $68. for the culvert pipe. The City will replace the driveway aprons with <br />gravel; however, far concrete or asphalt the highest would be $90. for concrete. <br />The Committee will tour streets to determine which ones are in worst condition. <br />These would be done this year; that is as far as the funds appropriated will go. <br />Cocamlttee will also check on strengthening the ordinance oa parking in order to <br />avoid the berms being damaged again; <br />2) Committee scheduled a meeting for April 24, 1975, 10:~ A.M., City Hall, to <br />set uP ground rules for Assesssent Equalization Board for the sidewalk repair <br />program as Council acts as the Equalization Board; <br />i <br />
