Council Minutes of 4-20-76 -9- <br />Under New Business: <br />Mr. Boehmer scheduled a Legislation Committee meeting Apxil 26, 1976, <br />8:30 P.M., City Ball. <br />Mr. Wilaaosky brougAt up twp items: 1) First item was discussed in Streets & <br />Drainage Coamittee meeting last night - atrcl received another call from a <br />resident on Angela Drive regarding t~ obaoaous odor comiag from the ditch. <br />It was discussed iast nit tlw-t the Hhgimaering Dept. or ~w dspartment of <br />the City was going to check into this mstt:r to make some deter~instion as to <br />the caws sad what w can do to correct it. President Lie~ert Mated he <br />talked to the City Engineer and the intention is tomorrow this will be <br />investigated. <br />2) Mr. Wilsaasky stated fie received a call this evening from a resident <br />complaining about a discbaige of a black oily type auto uss~earccasg that <br />appears to be being diacbarpd into an open ditch from Balleen y <br />and substance was floating in that ditcb`ag~in last night. ABr. Wila~sky <br />commented this problem ws dscwmr4d about a week ago and the ~gineeri~rg <br />Dept. and Service Dept. were very r ve; aac-id the Pire Departms®t went <br />out to confiirot thwc or not it was fla~rrable, and Ifr. W1laaasky tbot <br />this probles xould base been correctsd. City Engineer Childs stated Asst. <br />City Ea~gineer Mcl~er®wtt, after ,aering Dept. recsived a call today, went <br />and took a sample and there ass ~tothing in the ditch at 1:30 p.x. today. Mr. <br />Childs discussed the agile t~tt ~-as•..:previousiy taken has not been a~.alysed as <br />he sees no purpose in ba~riHg it siaal.yeed -they are prettq certain it is a rust <br />proofing compound ,coa~ag from Hallam i~ and action is being taken by the <br />Building Uepartmsnt to check that out and take corrective steps. klr. Childs <br />explained what will be xequired. Mr. Wilamosky vsrified that at this time <br />current investigation action is being taken by the Building Department. <br />Mr. Goggin stated he would like to request a stop sign at Marcie and Laurel <br />inn Laurel Woods. President Liapert referred same to Transportation Camimittee <br />for review. <br />Mr. Boehmer moved to accuse abasace of Councilman West, seconded by Mrs. <br />Beringer. Affirmative vote: Beaty, Boeb~eer, Goggin, Beringer, Sharpe, <br />Wilamosky. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Boehmer moved for ad~ourameiat.,~etconded by Mr. Wilanosky.
