Council Minutes of 3-2-75 <br />-5- <br />reverse the prior formula of the Board of-Lemiea~. Appoala is 19b8. <br />ROLL CALL ON I~TION: Affirmative vote: Beaty, Boehmez, Goggin, Beringer, <br />Sharpe, West, Wilamoskq. Motion carried. <br />Mrs. Sharpe requested Clerk to send letter to the Board of Zoning Appeals <br />pertaining to action of Council in said case. <br />2) Commaittee discussed the preliminary plea of Country Club 8xtension to <br />Columbia Road. The street plan will alleviate traffic congestion in the area <br />of the new Great Northern Mall. <br />Mrs. Sharpe moved Council approve the preliminary plan of Country Club Bxtenaion <br />to Columbia Road, seconded by Mr. Goggia. Affirmative vote: Beaty, Boebmer, <br />Goggin, 5aringer, Sharpe, West, Wilamsoky. Motion carried. Mrs. Sharpe also <br />requested that the proposed change be made on the Zoning Map. <br />3) Committee continued discussion of the Comprehensive Plan and rezoning of <br />Lorain Rd. Committee would like to meat with Planning Commission for further <br />discussion regarding changes is the Comprehensive Plan. Mrs. Sharpe requested <br />Clerk to contact Mr. Prokasy, Chairman of Planning Commission, to set up a <br />meeting time that is convenient with Planning Commission to meet with the B.Z.D. <br />Committee. <br />Mr. West, Chairman Envtrcrusental Control Committee, reported Comeittee set on <br />February 23, 1976, and reviewed following: 1) went over the budget of the <br />Sewerage Department and had a number of questions which were unanswered and <br />decided that Committee Mould put off approval of the budget and recomarendation <br />to the Finance Committee on the budget sad on the advertising for equipemnt <br />until Committee received all of the information that was needed; <br />2) considered a recc~mendation of the Service Department with regard to the <br />changing of the landfill. There is another landfill now available 1n Oberlin <br />and would save money as compared to Rockside. There were questions on contract <br />that Oberlin required and Committee asked for some clarification and that will <br />be forthcoming; <br />3) as reported by Mayor - Committee reviewed the proposal to contract out the <br />so-called "white metals" which City wakes now every week at a cost of approximately <br />$23000 - $30,000. per year. There was a general agreement that it was a good idea; <br />however, Committee did ask for the Service Director to check with the contractor <br />and find out what, if anything, it might cost if we have the pickup twice a month <br />rather than once a month and he agreed to do so; <br />4) Committee also asked the Service Department to get information pertaining to <br />having a pzivate contractor pick up all rubbish and trash in City as compared to <br />having the City da same. This is being done and Committse will schedule a <br />meeting as sopn as any part of information is made available. <br />Letters, Communications: <br />Mrs. Beringer stated she received letter to North Olmsted City Council c/o Mrs. <br />Beringer from Mr. Donald DeChant, 23515 Alexander Rd., stating his opposition <br />to any increase in the City i~acome or real estate tax. Mrs Beringer read letter. <br />People addressing Council: <br />Mr. Dan Marcia, 24285 Maple Ridge Rd., addressed Council and Adatinistration <br />pertaining to a particular drainage ditch; also drainage ditch in front of his <br />home. <br />
