Council Minutes of 3-2-76 -8- <br />for suspension of rule requiring three separate readings, seconded by Mr. West. <br />Affirmative vote: Beaty, Boehmer, Coggin, 3aringer, Sharpe, Wist, Wilasosky. <br />Mr, Wilamosky moved for adoption, seco~ed by Mr. West. Affirmative vote: <br />Beaty, Boehmer, Coggin, Beringer, Sharpe, West, Wilamosky. Motion carried. <br />Ord. No. 76-27 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 76-28 was introduced by l~yor Christman and given its first <br />reading. An Ordinance authorising the Ctq of North Olmsted, Ohio, to join <br />with other municipalities in litigation against the City of Cleveland with <br />regard to water service; autl~rising the Suburban Water Task Force Committee <br />of the Cuyahoga County Mayors attd City Managers Association to coordinate <br />efforts and receive and expend fins there~or~ and declaring an emergency. <br />President Limpert referred Ord. No. 76-28 into Finance Committee. <br />Under Old Business: <br />Mr. West asked status of toboggan run. Mayor discussed x12 of the tests that <br />have been performed - should be ready to go after sandbag testing. Mr. West <br />stated he would like to malts sure that if there is any cold weather at ali that <br />we rue the toboggan and get the bugs out of it now rather than gait until s~xt <br />Fall and then find out the warranty already has run out and we will get nothing <br />fixed. Mayor Christman stated this is the intention to do so and feels we will <br />be experiencing cold weather. <br />Under New Business: <br />Mrs. Beringer referred to some aistakes that have occurred at the Ree Center <br />and asked if the contractor is liable to a certain point in fixing Bose of <br />these things - such as draixsage, leskiag roofs - who is paying for this? Mayor <br />Christman explained the contractors all have punch lists of things they gust do <br />before the jab is considered Clete and acceptable by the City: leaking of <br />roofs is one; fitting of doors; locking of doors, etc. There is a cansiderabie <br />punch list that they are working on and believes alI of the contractors have <br />some work to do. <br />Mr. Coggin asked Mayor Christman if it is part of the contract to level the <br />area north of the building to the end of the north line of the property. Mayor <br />stated only in the Swale areas - not the entire l2 acre site unless it was <br />disrupted by the construction - there is no plan for grading the 12 acres north <br />of the building in••.toto. <br />Mr. Wilamosky asked Service Director Caster if there are any plans to dispose <br />of the junk equipment stored an the grounds of the Service Garage. Mr. Caster <br />and Mr. Weldon explained there is a list and expect to dispose of same the end <br />of April. Mr. Wilamosky requested a copy of the list. <br />Mr. Coggin requested a streetlight at corner of Dover Center Rd. and Marcie <br />jaae and discussed problems the residents axe experiencing because of the lack <br />of a streetlight. President Lampert referred request to Mr. Boehmer, Chairman <br />Public Safety, Health & Welfare Committee. <br />Mr. Coggin requested legislation authorising for bids for fencing around the <br />Rec Center which will be flnaaced through councilmanic bonds. Mrs. Beringer asked <br />what our bonding capacity will be after fence is taken out. Finance Director <br />Gerlach stated approximately $835,040 and deduct $17,000 for the fence. Mrs. <br />Saringer discussed the fact that the residents that abut Clague Park were thinking <br />about having a fence around that park and asked if same consideration would be <br />.. <br />
