The motion also deletes "atld such select co~i'.~tees as <br />maq be authorized by Council from time to time". The original change was in <br />Rule 13 -Standing Cosamni.ttees. With this change, during the middle of the <br />term or in the middle of tk~e year if there is a need to set up stays type of <br />a select committee there would be no provisions in the Rules to appoint a <br />select committee. <br />Mr. Beaty moved to wend to delete only "and shall appoint all stassaading cosmittees". <br />Motion seconded by Mr, Wert. Affirsativa vote: Beaty, Soehsssassr, Gogg3.n, ginger, <br />Sharpe, Weat, Wilamosky. Motion carried. <br />President Pro Tea Beringer called for vote on the main motion as asendad: <br />Affirmative vote: Beaty, Boehensr, Coggin, Stringer, Sharpe, hest, Wilasosky. <br />Mr. Beaty stated he is votimg yes for consistency sake; not with the spirit of <br />the whole change in the Mules. Motion carried. <br />Mr. Boehmgr, Chairman Public Safety, gealth b Welfare Cosessaittee, reported <br />Committee set on January 28, 1976, 'with Fire Chief Besent, Folice Chief Taylox <br />and Safety Director Carnahan, and edireso>creRed esanpo~rer end equipsent for both <br />departments. The Two Chief• autlineNd their priorities for the year, aecd at <br />this time the Finance Cosemittee is sCVpdyisa-g their requests for monies.. T!>te <br />Fire Department is badly in need of a near sodular squad equipped with a sobile <br />cardiac unit to replace Squad 51 sserhich is a 1969 Chevy. If the new squad is <br />obtained by the City it will ba placed in Bngine Muse loo. 2. In addition, <br />will have to hire additonsd. men to upgrade the Department for better sazvice <br />and protection to the citizens. The Ifagartsent also needs to regower a 1955 <br />Seagrove pumper. The City should also be thinking about erepiacng one of the <br />old pusspers with a new setts which will take sheaf two years far delivery. <br />2) The Police Department is in used of radio equipment which sill be 'fuelled <br />with Federal money. The City pastier will be 5X of apgraxisstely $35,000 and <br />the State portion will be 5X. The Police Department is asking for 5 new police <br />cars which will probably cotta about at the end of the year; one users Lieutenant <br />far the Detective Bureau; plus new clerks and dispatchers. <br />3) Ccre~ittee reviewed an application far a new C-1 and C-2 permit to &utbr 6 Souls <br />Pizza, 26114 Lorain Rd. and Cotetsl.tt~ee has no abjsctians. Mr. Boe~tar rsaqua~rted <br />approval of Council not to object to the C-1 and C-2 peresi.t applications. Cots~cil <br />was polled and there were no ab~ections. <br /> <br />
