Council Minutes of 1-20-76 -6- <br />of Mrs. Saringer to serve on Landmarks Commission: Affirmative vote: Beaty, <br />Boehmer, Coggin, Sharpe, West, Wilamosky. Negative vote: Saringer. 6 Yeas - <br />1 Nay - Motion carried. Mrs. Saringer appointed to Landmarks Comsaission. <br />Mr. West referred to the change in Council Rules - Rule 13 was changed regarding <br />appointments of Standing Committees at last msieting. Mr. West stated Council <br />did not change Rule 8 ~rhich spells cut tl~ duties of the President of Council <br />and Rule 8 still specifies that the Presfdait of Council shall appoint all <br />Standing Committees. Mr. West re ed that this be referred to the Legislative <br />Committee so that this m~ty be cleared ~ and Council Rules be consistent. President <br />Pro Tem Saringer referred same to Mr. Boehmer, Chairman Legislation Committee ~~r <br />review. <br />Onder New Business• <br />Mr. Wilambsky stated he would like to advise Council that he has received <br />list of requests from the B"ire Uspartmsnt and Police Departmrent regarding <br />salaries and have requested Cluck to forward a copy of the requests to the <br />Administration asking for input frog the Administration on this and asking <br />that input be forwarded to the Finance Coasaittee. Mr. Wilamosky requested <br />Members of Council be suppliead with copy of requests. <br />President Pro Tem Saringer referred appointments recommended by the Mayor and <br />letter from Representative Rocco Colonna, in reference to Deputy Registrar in <br />Berea, to Mr. Boehmer, Chainaian Intro Governmental Relations b Legislation <br />Committee. <br />President Pro Tem Saringer referred to Streets .6 Drainage Committee, resolution <br />from Westlake with respect to the water rates being charged by City of Cleveland <br />to suburbs. <br />President Pro Tem Saringer reported she received a letter from the Recreation <br />Commission in answer to a~letter she had written to them regarding additional <br />improvements at Clague Rd. playground. Is happy to report that they will reseal <br />the tennis court at Clague T~Ld. playground and will purchase some equipment for <br />toddlers. There were several other recommsadations Mrs. Saringer had made but <br />is glad above mentioned items will be done this year.. <br />President Pro Tem Saringer referred letter from Virginia Hodgias, Recording <br />Secretary to Board of Building Code Appeals, dated January 5, 1976, regarding <br />action of the Board to Mrs. Sharpe, Chairman Building, Zoning & Development <br />Committee. <br />Mr. Boehmer stated he received two calls this evening from residents on Maple <br />Ridge Rd. complaining about the blockage in the drainage where the pipe gees <br />across to Westlake side. It is his understanding that this bas been a problem <br />for years. Mr. Boehmer stated he would like to invite these people to the <br />next Streets & Drainage Committee meeting, and also requested this matter be <br />placed into the Streets 6 Drainage Committee to be taken up at next meeting. <br />President Pro Tem Saringer stated she will take same into Streets 6 Drainage <br />Committee. <br />Mr. West moved to excuse the absence of President Limpert, seconded by Mr. <br />Boetmmer.
