A few of these items he had discussed with both HUD and the
Ebonezer Society; Rev. The Environmental Control Committee does recommend Taising the tap-in
charge from the present $320. to $425. in 1478. Mr. West referred to the price'
of homes and how they have increased and our tap-in charges have stayed the same
and Committee feels they ought to go up also in line with inflation;
2) Mr. West stated he would like to say, as a Member of the Transportation Committee,
that we have had reports in the newspapers about the bus drivers and the bonus:
RTA has been in contact with us and Mr. West thinks all of Council ought to under-
stand that the stand the Committee has taken and that Council has gassed by
ordinance on that bonus is right in line with RTA and if we were to change it we,
the City of North Olmsted, would have to foot the bill and not RTA. Thinks it is
important everybody understand that this is in line with what RTA is doing as far
as our drivers and there is no other alternate unless Council wants to appropriate
some more money to satisfy this.
Letters, Communications:
President Lampert referred letter received from Mr. Paul Wise, Chairman of Advisory
Board of Dept. of Human Resources, in connection with length of term of members to
that Board, to Mr. Boehmer, Chairman Intra Governmental Relations & Legislation
Committee.
People addressing Council:
Mr. Frank Cumberland, Attorney with law firm of Baker, Hostetler ~ Patterson,
general counsel for the Soap ~ Detergent Association, addressed Council at length
with respect to Ord.
