Council Niinutt~ :,~ ~J-~r,-~i -3- <br />10) sometime ago asked the Administration to provide Committee with dollar <br />figures with respect to a request that was recently made by the Police Dept. <br />employees and Committee is still awaiting the figures. <br />Safety Director Koharik stated he has the figures to present tonight and gave same <br />to Mr. Wilamosky. Mr. Wilamosky requested Clerk make copies for Members of the <br />Finance Committee; <br />11) Committee recommends that Oxd. No. 77-179 be adopted which would provide for <br />the purchase of a parcel of property fronting on Stearns Rd. in conjunction and <br />in cooperation with the Board of &lucation. Will be requesting suspension of <br />rule requiring three separate reading on saaa3 tonight; <br />12) presently there is legislation pending. ceiling for an additional appropriation <br />of $3,000 to tree planting. In light of the fact that this legislation is on <br />third reading tonight, Committee intends to appropriate an additional $1,~0. and <br />this will be includ.d in the next transfer of appropriation ordinance. <br />Mr. Fairfield referred to legal opinion requested by Mr. Wilamosky frees the Law <br />Director and asked for more detail on same. Mr. Wilanosky discwsaed same briefly <br />stating he had just received same today. Mr. Fairfield requested a copy of the <br />legal opinion. Copy will be sent to all Members of Co~cil. <br />Mrs. Sharpe, Chairman Building, Zoning & Development Committee, scheduled a <br />B.Z.&D. Committee meeting on October 26, 1977, at 7:30 P.M., City Hall. <br />Mr. West, Chairman Environmental Control Coceai.ttee, reported: <br />1) announced an Environmental Control Conmlittee meeting on October 31, 1977, <br />8:00 P.M., City Hali; <br />2) at meeting on October 318t Committee will review the various reports they <br />have received on the proposed noise ordinances: report from City Engineer with <br />regard to measurement of noise; report from Building Camaissioner relating his <br />conversations with people in Lakewood and Middleburg Heights with respect to <br />their experiences with the ordinances they have; lengthy report from Police Chief <br />Taylor with respect to the ordinance and fiat he has in the way of rec bons, <br />3) Commuittee will want to review and mere final decision on the trees and would <br />appreciate getting the list that was asked far prior to October 31st; <br />4) will discuss the Sewage Plant and the indication that we may need more money <br />for chemicals. <br />Mrs. Saringer asked Mr. West if meeting could be held on another night. Mr. West <br />explained October 31st is the only night Committee could get together: this is <br />going to be a preliminary meeting on the noise ordinance, and will arrange to <br />have the next meeting when Mrs. Saringer can make it. <br />President Limpert explained Ord. No. 77-161 has been amended and has been placed <br />back on second reading. <br />Letters, Communications: <br />Mr. Wilamosky read petition he received from residents of Southern Ave. and Burns <br />Rd. requesting stop signs vn the northwest corner at intersection of Burns Rel. <br />and Southern Avenue and at the southeast side of Southern Avenue at intersection <br />of Burns Rd. Clerk to make copies of petition for Transportation Committee and <br />Mr. Wilamosky. President Limpert referxed petition into Transportation Committee. <br />People addressing Council: <br />Mrs. Gemma Szabo, 30837 Bradley Rd., addressed Council regarding weeds located <br />two doors west of her house on Bradley Rd. which present a safety hazard; also <br />streetlight which has been out on Bradley Rd. Discussion ensued. <br />
