We will now be able <br />to start observing the effect of this sign; <br />2) am requesting the President of Council refer to the prapeY cossittee Safety <br />Director Kahari~:'s regaest to amend ord. Ato. 74-111 to provide for smoke detection <br />systems in new single-family dwellings; <br />3)would like to announce that on Wednesday, 3uae 15th, the Recreation Complex will <br />hold a Fun Day. An information sheet is posted on the bulletin board at the rear <br />of Council Chambers. <br />Mrs. Saringer, Chairman Streets b Drainage Committee, scheduled a Streets b Drainage <br />Committee Meeting on June 14, 1977, 8:00 P.M., City Mall, and requested the Service <br />Director and Public Works Commissioner to be in attendance. <br /> <br />Mr. Fairfield, Chairman Recreation, Public Parks ~ Buildings Committee, reported <br />Recreation Committee met with Recreation Commission, Mayor, and many people in <br />audience and decided several things: Mad suggestions to the fact of forming a <br />volunteer group to promote the 8ecreatian Center. Mr. Fairfield made this ann~unce- <br />ment before Community Council and did get some offers by people to assist is this <br />effort. It was felt with 40 or 50 people making door to door calls with a promotional <br />piece for the Rec Center that they would be able to inform the residents of this <br />facility. Mr. Fairfield stated he found out through his questionnaire that a lot of <br />people do not use the Rec Center: feels it is a fine facility and thinks if the <br />people are informed of the activities, times, etc. this will be of benefit and <br />direct personal contact will help. The Mayor also felt this would be helpful; <br />2) have seat out a questionnaire to the residents of Ward 1 - received 88 replies <br />from the people and there are many goad suggestions that they would like to see at <br />the Rec Center, such as family nights; some nights for adults. Received response <br />from participants that assumed position of Council Members on All Scouts Dray that <br />perhaps a night, maybe on Friday, for the senior high school people:; as well as <br />input an recreation ideas. We are wader way getting people enlisted in this <br />program. Mr. Fairfield hopes to seat with Mr. Brander and talk over some of the <br />details of this prosotional material, as well as scheduling and fees, etc. Mr. <br />Fairfield will then call a Committee meeting and see what else we have to do. <br />Mr. Beaty, Chairman Transportation Committee, scheduled a Transportation Committee <br />Meeting for June 9, 1977, 7:00 P.M., City Hall. <br />Mr. Boehmer, Chairman Intro Governmental Relations & Legislation Committee and <br />Public Safety, Health b Welfare Committee, reported Legislation Committee met sad <br />discussed the appointment of Mr. William Prati to the Board of Zoning Appeals. <br />Mr. Boehmer moved Council approve the appointment of Mr. William Prati to the Board <br />of Zoning Appeals, term expiring 12/31/77, seconded by Mr. West. Affirmative vote: <br />Beaty, Boehmer, Fairfield, Saringer, Sharpe, West, Wilamosky. Motion carried. <br />2) scheduled a Legislation Commtittee meeting on June 14, 1977, 8:30 P.M., City Hall. <br />Mr. Wilamosky, Chairman Finance Committee and Long Range Planning Co~amittee, <br />reported Finance Committee met and discussed following: 1) transferring of <br />appropriations of $3,600. in General Fund Line Item Clerical to Line Item Safety <br />Director Secretary and Committee has no objections to Ord. No. 77-99; <br />2) discussed organizational charts of various departments: Administration Organiza- <br />tional Chart - Ord. No. 77-102; Engineering Department - Ord.
