It is ha~ped that this will
bring about safe and lawful house moving activity in the City;
6) have found in an inactive file Res. No. 75-70. It requests the State Director
of Highways to change the speed limit of Brookpark Rd. between Great Northern Blvd.
and Lorain Rd. from the present 50 mph to 35 mph. Have also found that to have
this chaps gra:~,ted we must conduct a speed zone survey and show the State Director
cause for the change. The cost of the speed zone survey would be $600.. and would
take three weeks to complete. Safety Director Koharik requested President Limpert
to refer this to the proper Committee of Council for consideration.
President Lampert referred request with respect to the speed zone survey into
Transportation Committee.
Mrs. Saringer asked Safety Director Koharik what hours the auxiliary police will
be stationed at the parks. Safety Director Koharik stated these are auxiliary
police and on a part time basis - it is as the schedule and manpower available
allows, but they are there duriag the time the parks are used for recreation
purposes. They are there to make sure that all of the facilities are in use
and protected.
Mrs. Saringer, Chairman Streets & Drainage Committee, reported Committee Meeting
was held April 27, 1977. All members were present including Mr. Childs, Mr. Caster
and Mr. Weldon. On agenda tonight are two pieces of legislation:
approving the report of the Board on objections relative to the estimated aasess~nts
for the Mill Rd. sidewalk improvement, and, determining to proceed with the improve-
ment by constructing a concrete sidewalk. The Committee's recommendation was to
approve the Board's report and proceed with construction;
3) Committee discussed the Siebenhar Subdivision and the cost of the work
necessary to modify and restore storm sewers under Ranchview. The total coat is
$5,399. The Committee recommends to the Finance Committee that the City split
the cost with the developer for this improvement;
4) Committee reviewed correspondence received from the County in regards to the
turn lane at Clague & Lorain Rds. If we are to proceed with this a qualified
real estate appraiser should be hired to make before and after assessments of the
affected parcels. The cost of some of the acquisitions would be quite high. At
this time the Committee does not believe it to be feasible to enter into an agreement
with the County. The Service Director has agreed to fill the chuckholes and make
the berm passable so that cars can turn right on red a little easier. The closer
I-480 comes into existence the closer this project will came into reality.
Mr. Fairfield, Chairman Recreation, Public Parks & Buildings, reported: 1) have
received correspondence from a Mr. Crowley on Cottonwood Trail, in which he stated
what he felt were some of the problems at the Recreation Center in the past few
years.
