No. 77-66 from the Agenda, seconded by Mr. West. <br />Affirmative vote: Beaty, Boehmer, Fairfield, Saringer, Sharpe, West, Wilam~sky. <br />Abotion carried. <br />Mr. Wilamosky, Chairman Finance Committee, and Long Range Plats~ing Committee, <br />reported Finance Committee met, also in atten~daance were Mayor Christman;, Service <br />Director Caster, Safety Director 1Caharik and Finance Director Gerlach. Following <br />items were reviewed: 1) Ord. No. 77»74, which Mr. Beaty commented an, sut~rizing <br />the. advertising of bids for 4 new vehicles to be used by the Police Depart. <br />Committee here no obfectivns to same bece~use the money has already been appropriated; <br />2) Ord. No. 77-b8 which would authorise then issuance of $35,000. bonds for building <br />and real estate oa Dover Center Rd. Coamlittee has no objections; <br />3) Ord. No. 77-69 which authorizes the issuance of notes for the R,ec Center and <br />Committee has no objections; <br />4} Oxd. Na. 77-70 which authorizes the issuance of bonds in anticipation of the <br />collection of special assess~eents for the repair of sidewalks. Will be requesting <br />suspension of rule on Ord. Nos. 77-68 and 77-70; <br />5) Committee diecussed letter from the Chamber of Commerce which requested City <br />to contribute $500. for the annual 4th of July Fireworks. Had already appropriated <br />$300. for the 4th of July Program and Committee recommends that the $300. be <br />increased to $500. Committee recommends that $200. be transferred from Geaezal <br />Fund Line Item Miscellaneous to Fireworks. Committee requests the Clerk of Council. <br />;to notify the Chamber of Commerce advising them of the Finance Committee's <br />recommendation; <br />6) Committee diecussed Ord. No. 77-67 which authorises the issuance of $168,000 <br />bonds for purpose of paying off the cast of the City property at Barton & <br />Bradley Rds. Committee has no objections and will request suspension of the rule <br />on the ardinaace this evening; <br />7) Committee discussed Ord. N©. 72-19 which created a Petty Cash Fund for the <br />Police Dept. to feed prisoners. Due to the increase in number of prisoners that <br />are now being confined the current petty cash fund of $50. is inadequate and the <br />Committee recommends that the petty cash fund be increased from $S0. to $1~.; <br />8) Committee discussed Ord. No. 77-75 which would repeal Ord. No. 75-57 which <br />ordinance established the comple~sent and compensation of the Recreation Department <br />and Committee has no ob~eetians; <br />9) Co~nuittee discussed the roofs of bath fire stations - both are lemming and <br />need repair. The boiler in Fire House #2 is in need of replacet. 1'he Safety <br />
