Council Minutes of 4-19-77 -8-
the 1975 section Butternut F;`.dg? is not listed and this was resurfaced in 1975
and 1976. Mr. Wilamosky stated in his opinion that list is totally incorrect -
the square yardage as displayed is totally incorrect and he thinks Mr. Beaty's
discussion of it is somewhat misleading and is not totally accurate. Discussion
ensued. President Limpert stated he will take one more comment on the subject
and it will be dropped. Mrs. Saringer commented that in 1974 or 1971 Ward 2 and
Ward 4 were redistricted and some of the streets that are now presently in Ward
2 were Ward 4 at the time so those were actually in Ward 4 and they are now in
Ward 2.
Mr. West asked if we have received the new fire truck which was ordered when we
ordered the quads. Mayor stated the fire truck was received a week ago - it is
not equipped yet, etc. Mr. West requested arrangements be made for Council to
view the fire truck when it is ready for service.
Under New Business:
Mra. Saringer requested Service Director to note that she is requesting Rosita
Lane be patched and also is requesting that it be resurfaced next year; also
Westchester. When Westchester was resurfaced they only did half of the street
and now the other half is in dire need of repair.
Mrs. Saringer requested the Safety Director to check into a "Not a Thru Street"
sign for Rosita. Have reports there are trucks coming down Rosita from the
construction sites on Walter Rd. not knowing it is not a thxu street and turning
around in the cul de sac and tearing up the lawn. If a sign could be placed at
the beginning of the street it would help.
Mrs. Saringer stated she has reports of speeding on West 231 St. and requested
the Safety Director to check into this to see if police could be there whenever
they can between 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. to try and apprehend the speeders; and
requested a report back.
Mr. West asked Service Director Caster to have his plans for tree planting at
the Environmental Control Committee Meeting on May 2nd.
Mr. Beaty moved for the installation of a No Right Turn On Red at Great Northern
Blvd. and Lorain Rds. far a one month trial basis, seconded by Mr. West.
Affirmative vote: Beaty, Boehmer, Fairfield, Saringer, West, Wilamosky. Motion
carried.
Mr. Wilamosky discussed the condition of many of the areas in the City along
the I-480 right of way with respect to brush and debris, specifically the Stearns
Rd. area, and asked if the Administration could contact the State to see that
these areas are policed a little better by the State. Discussion ensued. Mayor
will check same out. Law Director Gareau stated with respect to wing of houses
there is a provision in our Codified Ordinances and stated same. If Mr. Wilamosky
has something specific in mind he can notify the proper authorities and we can
cite the people. Mr. Wilamosky stated he is not referring to any specific site,
but generally. Perhaps a program would have to be undertaken to drive along the
1480 right of way to determine where the real mess ie.
Mr, Fairfield stated a meeting was held with people on Ranchview and West
Ranchview who were disturbed by a street coming from Tallwood Estates into
their area, as well as other problems. Came to an agreement with all parties
that this road could be put through but it would be chained off to through
