Mr. Farrel is also President of Bretton Ridge Civic Association. <br />Would like to see Council consider sad pass Mr. Wilamosky's $85. flat fee - <br />would like the people to have a choice.' Discussion ensued. <br />Mr. Jahn Maloney, 24782 Arlington Lana, President of the Park West Homeowners <br />Assn., addressed Council regarding tl~ 3 mill levy for the treatment plant; <br />the action of Council of a 60~ increase in usage fee and feels this is grossly <br />unfair to the property owners in his development and gave reasons therefor. <br />Made a comparison on original proposal of a 3 mill levy with a flat fee of $SS. <br />and the 60X increase. Discussed the economics of the proposals sad f~is it <br />is more economical to take a package $$5, flat fee with the 3 mill levy. Urged <br />Council to reeb~iaider their action stating reasons therefor. <br />Mr. Taylor, 29471 Sutton Drive, addressed Council stating he feels the people <br />should be given a choice as to which way they want to go on the sewer rate proposals <br />and they are not, getting it and feels the people should have the opportunity to <br />vote vn a flat fee or a combination thereof. <br />Mr. Bob Suhay, 6429 Stsffozd Drive, addressed Council statin; he is in favor of <br />the fiat fee plus the 3 still levy; also discussed billing on usage and why the <br />rates will have to be raised again. <br />Mr. Wilamosky requested President Limpert if he would ask the members in the audience <br />to show some Indication if they would rather support a fiat fee structure plus a <br />3 mill levy over and above what we are now iookiug at in the form of legislation, <br />just to give Council a general idta. <br />President Limpert stated he does not think there is much doubt in anybody's mind <br />and .does not think a show of hands is needed and it is quite evident how the <br />audience feels regarding a flat rate. <br />LEGISLATION: <br />Ordinance No. 77'11 introduced by Mx. W11am+osky was given its third reading. An <br />Ordinance establishing and fixing the compensation for the President of Council <br />of the City of North Olmsted for the term of office commencing January ]„ 1978, <br />and ending December 31, 1981, and declaring an esaergency. Mr. Wilamosky moved <br />for adoption, seconded by Mrs. Sharpe. Affirmative vote: Beaty, Boehaer, Sariager, <br />Sharpe, Wilamosky. Negative vote: West. 5 Yeas - 1 Nay - Motion carried. Ord. <br />No. 77-11 adopted. <br />Ordinance No. 77-12 introduced by Mr. Wilamosky was given its third reading. An <br />Ordinance establish3.r~g sad fixing the compensation for all Council Messrs, both <br />ward and at-large, of the City of North Olmsted for the term of office commencing <br />January 1, 1978 and e~ling Dece~eber 31, 1979 and December 31, 1981, respectively, <br />and declaring an emergency. Mr. Wilamosky moved for adoption, seconded by Mrs. <br />Sharpe. Mrs. Sari~tger mrtde following comments: she has had second thoughts - <br />awhile ago was not in favor of increases in salary, however ta&ing into consideration <br />that she is not thinking of herself - this will be for ;the ne~et term of office <br />which is a four year term; and has to look at this realistically - ere else's <br />salary increases and Council does not have a pay taise'yearly like same ether people <br />normally receives so this is ~y she la in favor of the increas:.
